  1. Greetings, I am generating worksheets to quickly export lighting instrument information for paperwork and labelling purposes on my shows. I'm able to get almost everything I'm looking for in the proper format except for my fixture positions. Often it is helpful to get the X or Y coordinates of a lighting fixture relative to a center point on a truss for quick placement on site as load in is happening. Currently when I request the 'x location' or y location' values in the lighting reports set-ups I get a string of very long numbers that don't quite translate to any useful real world units (see attached screen shot and file). I know there has to be a way to edit the format of these units, but I cant seem to find it. Any information or thoughts would be awesome as my current work around is to tediously use the measuring tool to find my x & y positions unit by unit...very time-consuming. Note: I've tried changing units within my document preferences and it doesn't seem to effect the worksheet output Thanks! x-position tester.vwx

    Title Block Scaling Issue

That worked, thank you! And I suppose that makes proper sense, it just forces me to do a sheet for every drawing now :).

    Title Block Scaling Issue

Greetings, I'm having a peculiar issue with the new title block tool in VW Spotlight 2018. I'm not having any issue with placing or scaling sheet borders, however every title block I attempt to place or update from an earlier version drawing shrinks to a completely useless size. As far as I can tell there is no adjustment on this sizing and aside from custom creating a title block, I cant work with it. Am I missing something or is this part of a title block bug? I've included a test file that contains only the border and title block in question. Any insight is appreciated. In the meantime, I'll just be firing up VW2017 to use as a title block tool o_O. title test.vwx
  4. Greetings, I believe this already a known issue, but I managed to capture Apple's crash report this time and wanted to add it to the knowledge base if it would prove useful in solving the issue. In VW2017 spotlight SP2 I am having a crash event occur every time I attempt to align 2 or more lighting fixture symbols (whether or not the have been converted to instruments). I have experienced this issue over multiple drawings. However, when I opt to "distribute and align" instead of "just align" VW appears to have no issue and completes the action just fine. I have attached the crash report automatically generated by Apple. Thanks! Align fixture crash.pdf
  5. Your suggestion worked like a charm. Thank you for helping me out!
  6. Alright, I'll give your method a shot and try it out.
  7. Thanks for replying so quickly Jim. All of the above file versions were indeed saved directly to my desktop before I tried to import them into Vectorworks ( I had the same thought as you). Unfortunately I cant submit the file directly here, as it exceeds the max file size limit...Could I email the file to you, or share a dropbox link with you perhaps?
  8. Hi, Having issues importing sketchup files into vw 2017 SP2. I've attempted importing files from sketchup 2015 through 2017 to no avail. I'm aware of the existing issue with importing Sketchup2017 files into VW2017, but from everything I've read downsaving should do the the trick. However, I keep getting the same error message over and over telling me that my file is corrupt or from an unrecognized version of sketchup regardless of if I've saved downsaved it. This is across multiple files as well. The original file I was trying to convert was about 64MB so I tried creating a little test file from scratch and had the same problems. Perhaps this in an issue with any drawing originating from Sketchup 2017? Thoughts?
