    2 Part ? regarding windows & Doors

    Question 1- When inserting windows into walls how do I know for sure which side of the window is the outside and the inside. I try adding (example- I try adding interior trim) and it puts it on the exterior) I go back to the objest info plallette and try to flip the window but the trim remains on the exterior? How to I resolve this.

    Question 2- When creating walls for a simple building, knowing I need to only have angles at 0, 45, 90. Is there a way to set the wall tool where it want chage from these angles, meaning I don't want it at 39.5 degrees, just the ones listed above- It seems if I were able to do this I could really fly to set up the walls in my drawings

    working with complex roofs

    I am working on a residential house with a somewhat complex roof. I have completed the main part of the roof using the creat roof from polygon tool- Simple enough. I am trying to add a new roof over a porch which will be supoorted by columns (just 1 of many other roof systems to be added)- It will a gable end and I was wandering if I need to cut part of the main roof inorder for this new roof to fit snug- I tried drawing as one roof but kept getting an error indicating the roof was too complex. ANy thoughts on what the best approach is to creating roofs like this

    VW Arch 12.5 slow rendering speeds

    I currently upgraded from VW Arch 11 to 12.5. I am using windows XP for an operating system- It seems that the speed to do any type of rendering is incredily slow and much slower than when I had VW 11. What can I do. When I loaded up the new upgraded version I deleted the previous version, ie: 11, 11.5, 11.5.1. Could this be the problem?

    When using the wall framer tool and setting parimeters @ framing 16" O.C. for exterior walls, how to I know what direction will it go with being 16" O.C.- Do it always go clock wise?

    Importing a tree and topo map problems

    I am trying to import a Autocad 2004 tree and topo map into VW Arch 11.5. I am having problems with tree names not showing up. It seems that when I recieved the file from my egineer that when I open it in autocad first , i was asked to download the newest autocad "objects Enabler assistant" in order ot receive all the info. I did download the lastest object enabler aisstant and everything ccame through on the AutoCad- However when I try to bring it into VW arch 11.5 I do not get the tree names and a few other objects- Has this happened to anyone else- if so was there a solution?

    I know this has been discussed but I am trying to create a 3-d model of a 2 story home, 1st floor, 2nd floor, roof- I am using vectorworks Arch. 11.5.2 and am wondering if I can generate a rendered drawing without the lines on the exterior of the home(lines represent the individual floors stacked on one another)I would like just one solid surface for the exterior of the home

    I understand how to do that, my default dimension tool will automatically go to 6" offset, I don't want it to offset at all- So I have to back to all my dimension and chages th offset from 6" to 0"

    Unfortunietely, I am using VW 11.5.1 & it limits me what i can choose under doc. preferences then under dimensions. I am just trying to take on the charistics of the edited dimension that I just last did, but it seems to jump back to the default

    I am having the worst time trying to get my dimension pick up the attributes of the last dimension I drew. Is there a way to set the default of the dimension to 0", number size @ 10, and precision to no fraction? Please help

    Unistalling VW

    I am having issues with VecotroWorks Architect 11.5 and I would like to try and unistall VectorWorks and then re-install it.

    My question is: Do I need to re down load all the upgrades, , ie: 11.0 to 11.1 to 11.5., etc. or is is just the main CD that I purchased is only thing I need to re-install?

    Runtime Error(crashing)

    I own VW architect 11.5 and I keep getting a runtime rerror and then the program crashes.

    The erro messages reads as folows:

    Program C:|Progra~1Vector~1|Vector~1.EXE

    I am working on a file that I need to trace over the image that I scanned in. I have been sucessful up till now.

    Please help
