Using WinXP

Microsoft Word, Excel etc have a "default file location" located under the options menu.

This would be a useful little addition to VW.

Definitely. This is a must. I know it can be set using the hatch from the menu but then the hatch just becomes a group of lines.

[11.5 Crashing]

We are also experiencing random crashes like the ones mentioned above and the screen redraw rate seems to be around 3 times slower than 11.0.1.

What is the best way to revert back to 11.0.1 on a XP computer?

[Problem with class visibility in viewports]

When opening drawings saved in VW 11.5 format using VW11, a message appears saying that the class visibility has been changed on some viewports and to see these changes look at a text file located in the program folder.

Why is this occuring? Very frustrating having to locate these changes and correct them.

Jonathan's movie shows exactly what the 2D reshape tool should be able to do. But it doesn't work like Jonathan shows. The drawing label does not move even though it is fully enclosed within the marque. Jonathan must be using a drawing label symbol or something.

Please enhance the 2D reshape tool so that it moves other 2D items such as PIO's, reference markers, labels. This could be an option that could be turned on or off for those that don't want this function.

No help required thanks. It shouldn't matter what the VW definition is, if it is a 2D object is should move.

I will add this to the wishlist. It makes sense to me that the 2D reshape tool would be "better" if it did move all 2D objects including PIO's, reference markers, labels etc.

Yes I understand what the 2D reshape tool does, but why can it not move all 2d items? When say you are extending the length of something using the marque, everything extends/moves including dims, text, groups but not PIO's. I cannot think of a reason why these should not be included? They are 2D items. It's a hassle having to manually move these items after resizing the drawing.

This is one downside of adding information on the "annotation" layer of the viewport. It means this "drawing" or "detail" cannot be copied or re-used in another file.

Updated the OS and did the disk repairs etc but still getting the same messages.

This is happening on multiple files.

Any other suggestions?

first message ?vectorworks has detected a condition of instability?. Save and quit vectorworks?

second message a minute later ?Vectorworks will shortly be unable to continue functioning. Please save your work and quit immediately to avoid loss of work?

Any ideas how to prevent these messages happening?

Does the "change wall thickness tool" under the "AEC" menu not do what you want?

You can specify which part of the wall is fixed.

Yes, we cannot print large size PDF files either, but have excellent results with smaller size drawings say up to A3 size. It would be nice if Acrobat included larger page sizes in the page size list - the largest they accommodate is A3 without using a custom page size. I think this is where the problem occurs.
