  1. I would like to be able to:

    - define dash style by real units (provide more control)

    - have the option of inserting text in dash styles so that service lines and the like can easily be drawn

    - have the option of inserting other lines or objects so that 'fences' and the like can be easily drawn.

Would also be nice if dash styles were slightly elastic so that they always have a line portion at each end.

The opposite option would also be useful - ie. a blank area at the beginning and end of a line.

  2. The Task Manager in Architect is a great idea but it needs to be more intuitive to use.

I believe that if it was more accessible and obvious that more people would be likely to use the Model Setup and Create Standard Sheets routines built into VectorWorks Architect

My experience is that many people get confused with this capability of the program and therefore don't use it because they believe it is too complex and inflexible.

I think a bit of the 'KISS' principle needs to be applied so that people are not inhibited by it.

A start would be to have the Task Manager in a pop down menu of its own rather than embedded in the Organise menu.

  3. Would be nice to have option for walls to associate with roofs above or below (separately of course).

eg. scribe to underside of roofs over and top sides of any roofs below

Even better would be the ability to describe the relationship with the roof so that the profile could be adjusted to finish where desired in relation to the roof.

    For example:

    - Internal roofs finishing at the underside of the roof

    - Gable end walls finishing say 400 above to form a parapet which follows the roof line at a consistent height above it

    - Gable end walls following the underside of a roof profile below

  4. I find having all symbols/plug ins attaching to walls particularly annoying.

    I don't want:

    - a piece of furniture 'attaching' itself to a wall just because it is near it

    - difficulty in having a symbol 'attach' itself to the correct wall when close to a corner intersection

Surely only door and window symbols/plug in objects are the ones which need to always interact with a wall.

For the rest the default state should be no interaction.- with perhaps an interaction option for the rare cases where this is required.

  5. I long for associative dimensioning that actually works and is useful:

? It needs to recognise objects such as walls, doors and windows

? It needs to recognise corners so that you don't have to choose an object to associate the dimension to

? You should be able to move a dimension line to a new location as a whole rather than having to move each one laboriously

? You should be able to add or delete points to a dimension string by clicking on the appropriate point

? Making dimension style changes should be simpler
