    Interior Wall Detail Help

    Hi,

    I'm trying to draw a window with a splay wall but when I use the interior wall detail tool, it splays the wall all the way around the window and I only want the wall to be angled on either side of the window. It looks fine in the plan but when I look at it in 3D the sill of the window and the header are also angled. Can anyone help me amend this? (I can attach a link if i'm not clear!)

    Missing windows and doors tool in tool set

    Hi!

    Can anyone help with this problem? A colleague of mine has downloaded the free month trial of vectorworks 2016 and the windows and doors tool is missing from his tool set bar. Quite a few of the other tool sets are missing within the tool set bar too. I have a bought version of vectorworks 2016 but I have used the free trial before and have had other friends and colleauges do so too and the download has always given a complete vectorworks package. Could anyone shed some light on this issue?

    Font not showing up

    Hi all,

    I've recently changed to a different computer at work and had to redownload the font we use for our plan drawings. However the font won't show up. It's working on photoshop so it has been successfully downloaded. It's a true type font so I can't see why it wouldn't be in my font list on Vectorworks. I'm using version 2016.

    Can anyone help? Many thanks!

    Editing Windows

    Hi there,

    I'm trying to edit my window to have a central sash of 250mm and panes of glass either side of 330mm each. When I edit the sash width, it edits all the sash panels- so the panels on either side of the glass, but I only want to edit the central sash as it's a lot wider than the others at 250mm. Is there a way to do this? From what I can see, I cant edit the glass panes, im guessing that they're measurement adjusts depending on the other values?

    Thank you! That's worked now.

    Could I ask something else? I have two curved alcoves next to the entrance door- do you know how I can insert them into the curved wall? for the moment i've just drawn them using the 2d angle tool but it's not really communicating what I need. Many thanks!

    Changing colour of door

    Thank you for your reply. I'm struggling to work out how to connect the custom leaf door from the RB to the drawing. So i've drawn my walls and inserted the doors using the door tool in the tool sets palette. Then when I drag a custom leaf door from from RB into my drawing, it is just a door with no frame or hardware. But it seems the only way to change the colour of the door is to insert the door from the RB. Whereas I want an editable door that I can change the colour of too. Does that make any sense? Thank you for your help!

    Hi,

    I'm a bit stuck with changing the colour of the door. I've made a new class called 'front door' and i've gone into the door settings and organised all the appropriate settings into my new 'front door' class. Then when I go to edit my 'front door' class, nothing changes. I've gone into my organisation palette and it shows that the front door is the colour I want, which is a light beige, however, the door still remains a dark brown.

    Also when I go to my render tab in the OIP and select a texture, only the door frame changes. Can anyone shed any light on this? I've been experimenting with everything I can find but haven't had any luck.

    Help editing a window!

    Ah yes, i've done it! Thank you! I need to show the windows as open, and when I do that, a red box in the bottom right hand corner of the screen says 'The selected object has no edit behaviour.' Could anyone shed some light on how to overcome this?

    Ah yes I've found it! Although it won't let me check it, it's greyed out. I'm fiddling with the settings to see how I can get the box to become black so I can check it (as I want the window panes to be unequal.) Not having much luck here. :crazy:

    Hi,

    Could anyone please tell me how I alter the window I'm trying to draw....It's a double opening window but one pane of glass is bigger then the other so the window is not symmetrical. I'm using the window tool under the tool sets. I've tried looking on the window settings and can't figure it out! Any help would be much appreciated! :)

    When I select the roof object and go to the render tab, it doesn't give me any options (just a drop down list for sketch options) I'm guessing this is because I don't have renderworks? Where can I access the rendering settings?....or can I access them if I don't have renderworks?

    Hi,

    I'm trying to give my roof a colour and it just doesn't seem to be working. I've gone to tools-organisation and selected a colour and texture that way and i've tried selecting the roof class under navigation and doing it that way, but that's not working either. I imagine it'll be something very simple that i'm missing here! Thanks, Lois

    Help! Doors disappear in Plan

    I've created a studio plan on Vectorworks 2015 and when I view and print the plan through the sheet layer, a couple of doors disappear and I can't figure out why! Any ideas why anyone? They're there in the design layer but just not the sheet layer, and it's not all of them, just a few!

    Handrail problem!

    I'm trying to get rid of the handrails and they won't seem to disappear! i've built the stairs in 3d using the stair tool and i've selected 'none' for handrail and it will not go away. I also only wanted handrails on one side of the stairs so selected to have them just on the inside but it didn't make a difference and the rail is continuing all the way around the landing which i couldn't get rid of either, so i thought i would just try and get rid of it all together. am I overlooking something here? many thanks!
