  1. Yes, that's the setting I missed :)

Nevertheless there is at least a frame that shows me the

    view borders now.

But I have to switch it explicitly on for camera view.

(that I can "zoom to all" to get a full screen view).

So I vote for an additional switch in the Tool Mode Bar :)

Most elegant would be a grayed out surrounding like in

Cinema and an auto zoom of the crop frame to (nearly)

    full window.

  2. That's the perspective crop, normally that should be turned off but it may be on by default in older files.

File > Document Settings > Document Preferences > display > uncheck Cropped Perspective.

    Great, thanks.

But is this the feature that would otherwise allow me to

view camera views cropped to the cameras viewing angle ?

    (Which I missed so far)

  3. I understand that VW 2012 can't open objects created in VW 2015

with new features. But a Library with simple old wall styles or doors ?

Couldn't older objects be converted on the fly when importing

or at least a hint that the Library needs to be converted to VW XXXX ?

    What happens when I convert a normal 2014 file to 2015 ?

F.e. I had problems with 2014 stairs where faces where flipped or

missing, the german developers did a fix for the stair tool which

should be included in VW 2015 Int. now.

Will then my broken stairs be recreated by the new stair tool after

    file conversion ?

  4. I hit the ESC key until it stops :)

Sometimes there is a lag or the key gets lost.

It's difficult also when trying to rotate the perspektive.

Most of the time the rerender starts before the model

    is rotated.

And I don't like much the linear single core function in Apps.

F.e. that you can't open anything else as long as a Dialog like

    Organization window is closed.

  5. Minotto the Resource Browser can only see resources in its version's files. Thus Vw 2014 can only access Resources in Vw 2014 files and Vw 2015 can only access Resources in Vw 2015 files.

    Thanks !

    But I don't think that's a good idea.

It's ok for delivered libraries but tedious for workspaces and a real

update breaker if there are longterm projects.

Why not a special *.vwl (VW Library) ending for Libraries and the ability

to read but not convert them to a higher version number,

as it is done with normal older files.

  6. My first issue,

I can't switch back from full screen mode under OS X 10.7.5

(I am the one who uses spaces on OS X)

If you move your cursor to the top of the screen, the menu bar should pop back down, there should be a blue icon at the top right to disable fullscreen mode. Does that button not appear, or when you click that, fullscreen does not disable?

Seems to work with a smaller file now without problems.

Maybe I had a strange combination between switching the 3 options

to full screen by Icons or Text Menu.

Or, as it needs some time to switch with large files, I didn't wait long

    enough.

  7. I'm also interested.

As far as I experienced you can't connect walls with custom end caps

anymore. You have to assign the complete end cap to one wall and

set the other walls to touch the cap.

But I don't know why you need so many custom caps ?

Better to show a screen shot.

If you need standard end caps, these can be set in the wall preferences

    insertion options.

  8. I don't know how many % of users have a subscription and

that will work for VW in marketing means,

but I think too that that's the way to go.

I will go to subscription soon too.

But I think it's good to have still the option to buy a release

and maybe even decide not to upgrade.

These users wouldn't buy VW at all if it is subscription only.

And to make people update their VW there needs to be a new

release with really lots of new features at one time.

Subscription means that you decided to go VW for the next years.

If that decision was made it's not so important to get a completely

    new feature rich release.

A continuos development could also reduce the concentration of bugs

which you experience with SP 0 releases.

But maybe it is not so easy to serve both user groups.

  9. That's the way OS X fullscreen mode works.

    No title bar, no dock.

That's fine for Apps like Safari, iWork, etc.

I don't use it either as I normally use, and switch between,

a lot of Apps where I need to access the title bar very often.

In VW I arrange my menu windows on screen and if I open a file

I push the green button to scale the drawing window to jump in

    between the Menus.

Don't know why but it makes me nervous if parts of the drawing

    are hidden behind Palettes.

I'm looking forward to get a non palette one-window UI like

in Cinema or Modo some times in the future :)

Would be nice to change the width and proportion of Object Info,

Navigation and Resource Browser in one go.

  10. That blue button appears but it doesn't change anymore when I click on it.

Same for the Window>Full Screen, I can toggle but no changes.

I managed to come back some how by activating (the other) Space with the

File, instead of the Space with the palettes, from the Spaces overview.

But now I can't resize the view Window and palettes.

    Strange.

But if that happens on old 10.7.5 only and current OS X works fine,

I wouldn't invest much time in it.

  11. But then I would need a seperate render window and real cameras

like in Cinema to save my images.

On the other hand I really like the reduced material settings in VW.

I use to set 80 % of my materials directly in VW.

  12. So as a workaround you could create a wall with the Thickness of

the real walls length and as long as the thickness :)

    Then it should slope well.

A little tedious to have to do that for each wall component again ;)

I vote for Parasolid Modeling Core in Architectural elements.

  13. I started with VW 2014.

VW has some really nice features but I was disappointed that it felt

    a bit like a Win 3.1 app.

I thought I read here that 64 bit won't come very soon.

Therefor I'm really happy to hear that VW 2015 will be now 64 bit

and rewritten in cocoa. That was my main complaint about VW.

I should have no more RAM issues with larger projects and exports

    and more consistent UI windows.

I think that was a lot of work and makes a good base for further

    refinements.

So I hope I could get in the future a graphical UI refresh, 4 window views,

Parasolid in all 3D geometry and BIM Tools, a two way Cinema connection

and a losless direct BIM exchange between, at least all 3 packages, of the

    Nemetschek family.

    :-)
