Too late
I think it would be better to delete the Trial with all Designer Stuff
and do a new clean ARCH install. Also do all user settings from start again.
-
-
Can the 2015 Trial be licensed with the serial number
or do I have to reinstall the package ?

I think you have to do take the photos for the Panorama
+ take additional panorama shots with different shutter speeds.
(I think this is possible by a mirror sphere also)
The different exposures are needed to get the high range image.
There are tutorials in the web and (free ?) software to create the
final HDRI image from the source files.
If you have a final HDRI it should be possible to include it to the
background/lighting settings.
-
It would be nice if:
1.) - 8.)
+1
That would be very nice.

This did not work for me too in DXF export from 2014.
Even set as you mentioned above.
But I am very happy as this works now in 2015 !

Just saw this yesterday.
And am looking forward to watch it

I think the problem is that the Radius of the curve is too small for the
given Fillet size.
The resulting curve at the border where the Fillet starts on top face
would overlap itself.
I think it is not really a geometrical problem but the way VW does
calculate the filets.
(always perpendicular to side face orientation ?)

Hmmh,
I had a similar Thread about Lights that seems to get lost after editing.
The Post is now included in this Thread - very strange.
I Think the webserver may not like my Spaces and - in the title (?)
(2015 - ....)

There happen strange things with Cameras in Cinema4D now.
Doesn't depend on Cinema Version, same in R13 and R16.
It really looks like there is a problem with VW standard setting
for projection, or switching between orthogonal and perspective
after using/creating cameras in general.
Also Cinema tries to get the same render mode set to its views
as in VW.
Also Cinema shows VW Crop
And aside, VW's zoom to elements zooms to cameras, even they
aren't visible.
-
Sorry, the post above belongs to the other Thread.
-
Edit :
Cameras seem to be corrupt even I set Z back to 0.00.
(All that had been assigned a Z value)
Working in VW again but giving me all the same Isometric in
Cinema.
-
Beside a potential bug in 2015,
if that works better in 2014 ...
Cinema4D, and so RW, has no physical accurate Render System for Lights,
like f.e. Modo or VRAY(4C4D) have.
And a lot depends on correct set material absorption and enough GI bounces.
Also there are some free Radiosity Engines from Light Source Manufacturers
that are built to estimate IES lights in rooms.
(Sorry forgot the name)

In FBX and Cinema Export we get Layers separated as a Locator/Group.
But Classes get ignored.
Each part comes in separate in its Layer Group named like this :
"Mesh CLASSNAME"
It is possible to divide and group these Parts again by
Cinemas Level Visibility or Item Search in other Software.
It is still more tedious to select f.e. all Walls at once as there
mostly is no alphabetical order.
Normally in a 3D Viz application only 1 mesh per Class/Layer
is needed anyway as Faces can be selected and edited that
way very good.
Nevertheless it is a pity that the order a user did by grouping
Geometry into Layers and Classes gets lost.
So would it be possible to put all Meshes from 1 Class into an
additional Locator/Group ?
-
Edit :
Cameras seem to be corrupt even I set Z back to 0.00.
(All that had been assigned a Z value)
Working in VW again but giving me all the same Isometric in
Cinema.

VW 2015 ARCH to Cinema R16 Prime.
As Prime has no Physical Sky,
so you get an error message when opening the file.
Physical Sky is not editable but does work somehow (?)
Scene is set with a Heliodon and Physical Sky in VW.
So Deafault Ambient Light is OFF.
But in Cinema you will get a Ambient Omni Light with 35 %.
Also you get 2 Infinite Lights, one ON the other OFF (ok).
Does the second Infinite Light come from the second
Render Style in Ressources ?
-
Cameras get corrupt when :
Setting a Z-value !
F.e.
No Story settings for Layers, Building with 3 stories.
Cameras and targets set to Eye height 1.7 m
but set a Z=3,0m for the Cameras on second floor.
Give strange results in VW when editing.
Gives you orthogonal views in Cinema instead of Camer Perspectives.

I think you have to clean this either in Sketchup or later in VW,
as you like.
I prefer to ungroup everything in Sketchup and select by materials
to redivide geometry f.e. on Layers. (for Visualization)
Needs some iterations until you get all.
Sketchup is always a pain.
Geometry is not very CAD like.
It looks like you get a complete model but you have a lot of work
with double faces, holes, one or two point polygons etc.
In Vectorworks,
f.e. Convert the unneeded Symbols to group, Purge to get rid of the
unused Symbols.
If material loss works as expected - I don't know.
-
I like it.
It looks a bit more modern and ... errr ... more iOS
-
I see a similar post on the German Forum,
+ all custom settings lost.
But he seems to be a Windows 7 User.
-
Yes, here
It's a pain when using the Push/Pull Tool.
There are lags for many seconds.
But zooming did not really better here.
-
You are working to good Jim.
This makes it easier to ask and wait for your answer than
trying to explore a little by my self
I think I have to try to think a little and play before I start writing ...

I did order my 2015 upgrade and Select contract today here in Germany
and I was told that the 1st Service Pack will normally just arrive 2 weeks
after release.
But no impatience from my side.
VW 2015 is astounding stable, not more crashes as with latest 2014.
So I would prefer to make use the time to get more of the little fixes
of the new features into the 1st SP.
-
Again,
what I've written above is what I need, the full Feature Version.
This means 2 additional settings in VW Preferences.
I don't want to estimate this in UI and user friendly terms.
What I could live with would be also that orthogonal Views
will be allways in Orthogonal Mode, in any case,
and any non-orthogonal Views set by that Preference Setting.
(Just like the Crop setting assigned to Cameras Views only)
But for the Render Mode .... I think I would need 2 separate
Settings.
Or the standard Top Plane Mode would be cool together with
the "B" Key,
but does not work with Meshes as I see.

I was used to have had Tools like,
Mesh Cleanup (Meshes) :
delete, Double Elements, Floating Vertices, Merge, Unify, ...
and
Data Cleaning (Solids) :
finding/select Gaps, Double Elements, Overlappings
As you write this I realize there is no such Tool in VW.
So I vote for such a tool in VW.
