I have done a few things that could have affected my plot, so I'll explain... I decided to create a new class for 10Ks and created a new class called Lights-10Ks. I also decided to move my custom 10K symbol to a folder within the document. Since moving my 10Ks to its new class, they have disappeared off the plot. I can use custom selection and set the criteria to Class=10Ks and "Just Select" and in the OIP, is says it has them selected. However, I can't see them on the map. I've made sure the visibility is on for the class and layer. Do I need to update the symbols since moving them to a folder in my Resource Browser? I aslo did similar actions for other lights (created a new class and moved their symbols to a folder) but I'm they are appearing correctly. Thanks for any help.

I've been toying around with the idea of making a calendar in Vectorworks, but only for work. I have not found a calendar application on the Mac that will really allow total customization and freedom. I'm willing to sacrifice things such as syncing and alarms for this particular calendar. I really just want a nice looking, colorful overview of the month that I can reference. I work in the film industry and need to make a calendar (ONLY MONTHLY VEIW) to show how many additional people I need to hire, equipment that needs to be rented, what locations are on those days, and so forth. These really aren't "events" and I've been playing around with various calendar apps and in order to create different colors, I'll have to create a separate calendar. I also like things to be in specific order; for instance additional people at the top of the day and the application will often shuffle this around for various reasons. Which is why I'm thinking of using Vectorworks. I was playing around last night and created a 1"x1" block and duplicated it to make my monthly view. All is good so far, but my questions are: 1. Has anyone ever made a calendar in Vectorworks and if so, any advice? 2. I'm worried I'm not seeing a potential problem? Can anybody foresee something? 3. When I get my 31 "day blocks" for the month of May, is there a simple way to put the dates in? I was thinking about converting the square to a light instrument and using the number feature. 4. I'm thinking my setup for the document would be at a 1:1 scale and I'd just create an 8.5x11 viewport and make a PDF for printing and for iOS. In your opinion, would this be the best way to create this... I'm still a novice with the program and have only used it to make lighting plots so I'm welcome to any advice you can give me. I have set up my vectorworks document to use inches and feet. I often use the linear measurement tool to display measurements and at times I'd like to display inches. Is there a way to override the feet and inches, while still maintaining my "inches and feet" setting in my Documents>Units preference?

Yes, the yellow button will still minimize the palette. I'm not sure what setting you're referring to?

In Vectorworks 2013, I can no longer double click on the toolbar of the palette to minimize it. Using Mac OSX Mountain Lion.

I'm very new to Vectorworks, so my apologizes, if this question it simple... I've created a light, which was converted from a symbol. I'm trying to place a label on the light, but the instrument itself, is not showing up in the "Edit Field Layout" and erases the light once I've assigned it a Label. I've played around and believe I messed up during the "Create Symbol" options. I left the option to "Change 2D Objects from Layer Plane to Screen Plane" unchecked. I haven't figured out how to get back to the options allowing me to correct this and I'm assuming it can't be done and the any option I use is committed to the symbol. Is it possible to convert the "Lighting Instrument" back to a symbol so I can correct this? Or is there an easy fix to have my label show up? It won't be the end of the world if I have to redraw this light, but I'd still like to know. Thanks,

Is it possible to duplicate a label legend, which is already present in the label legend manager? Thanks.
