  1. Check posts #63044-#63046. It had to do with creating multi-circuit instruments. Steve
  2. I also missed the label legend mirror when it changed in Ver. 12, particularly, when mirroring pipe ends. Auto Plot tools for spotlight does have a legend flip tool that works with selected lamps or all lamps for the legend that wants fields exchanged. Steve Ross
  3. The file is called Audio and is in the spotlight object library. Steve Ross Lighting Designer
  4. There is a container issue and Kevin is working on it Steve Ross Lighting Designer
  5. I had this same problem at some point in VW 2008. I also found that some legends would not hold their container. This was from a converted file from Ver. 12 so I re did the effected legends in 2008 and it solved the problem. I played around a bit and tried to add containers on other labels within the legend, but they would not hold until the legend was re donein 2008. I have not gone any further with this, like checking other files etc. OS is Vista. Steve Ross Lighting Designer
  6. Kevin, I converted one of the problems files from 12 to 2008 and had the same problem with just the converted legends and nothing new. Tech has the file called Peter Pan and found it crashed on all of the different window operating systems. When I convert back from 2008 to 12 everything is fine. Steve Ross
  7. In a further test of the label manager I deleted all the legends out of one of the problem files and added one new legend into the manager. When I closed it and try to reopen there was the usual long hang up. All of this seems to occur on converted files and imported legends and not by adding a legend into a fresh new VW2008 document. sross
  8. Thanks Kevin, I will send one of these files to tech. I have also tried removing and re importing the legends, sometimes a few at a time. In some cases it worked for a while then started freezing again. I hope a solution is found soon. Plots that have this problem can obviously not be used with Ver 2008.
  9. Kevin, The label legend manager opens fine when there are no label legends in the document. I even tried removing some thinking I might be a bad one, and I did get it to work but the whole poblem is not consistant. All of these documents are from 12.5.2 ether as a base theatre or a plot to experiment with. Some of the files work fine and other do not and I do not see a common thread. sross Lighing Desgner
  10. I am having a Spotlight hang up problem when selecting an instrument or other object such as a call out box in VW 2008. These delays (5 to 10 seconds each) occur whenever I select the light for the first time after opening the file or having done some other procedure like dimensioning, etc. Once the data shows up in the object info box I can then select objects at normal speed until I go and do something else like control tab to a different document, and if the lamp is still selected, when I return to the first file, the delay re occurs. Even more frustrating is that in most light plot drawings, but not all, the label legend manager will not open and completely hangs up the program and must be forced to close. These problems do not exists in 12.5.2 with the same files either converting from 12.5 or exporting back. I am running Vista and I have the latest video driver. I have talked to Jeff at tech support in case it was a Vista issue with 2008. Thanks sross
  11. Thanks Katie, I knew was just overlooking it. Steve
  12. Thanks Katie, What is strange to me is that I can not find it in the Dim/Notes Tool Set as I know it normally is nor do I find it showing up in the all tools folder of the workspace editor. The plugin however does appear in the main plugins folder. Thanks again, Steve Ross Lighting Designer
  13. Although the chained dimension tool is in the plugins folder (VW2008) I can not seem to find it in the workspace editor and hence not in the Dim. tool bar. Am I overlooking something or is it in a different location now. Thanks, sross Lighting Designer
  14. I checked back in 12.5.2 and when I turned the scroll bars off, the tilt wheel stopped side scrolling. Steve
  15. I had the same mouse horizontal scrolling issue and found that after I turned on the scroll bars in preferences I was able to use use the tilt wheel normally. Steve
  16. The script that I currently use, obtained from Joshua Benghiat, inserts all of the instrument X coordinates into user field one. They show up as (-#) if they are SR of center. This is then exported to LW and matched to whatever text column desired. Since the script currently inserts the X coordinates for all intrumnent's, there are positions such as box booms, multi cir lamps, etc that are usually not needed in Lightwright. These of course can be edited out as desired.
  17. I was looking for the same thing a couple of years ago and Joshua Benghiat of Autoplot tools for VW created one that will put all the x coordinates in the user 1 or 2 field. You might try to contact him.
  18. Some of my files have more than 25 in Ver.12.5 and all seems fine. I think I read somewhere that the limit is higher in VW 12
  19. Make sure when you are changing your information in the Light Info Record, the symbol is not selected and you see the words "symbol default" in object info data box or you will just change that individual instance of the symbol.I do believe there is a limit of 25 LL per drawing.
  20. I had a similar problem in VER 11 and if memory serves me right, I found instruments hidden in a different layer or on a section that I had drawn that VW kept starting with. Basically there were other instruments that were being counted that I was not aware of or thought should not have been counted. Hope this helps. Steve
  21. I had the same problem with the "replace with active symbol" command. This was indeed a bug and was fixed in the last update. Steve
  22. I updated to 12.01 and seem to having a problem with the label legends on mirrored lamps. For example on my side lights on SL I have the color on the top and the channel on the bottom of the instrument. When the mirrored lamps on SR update they reverse the lengend and put the channel on top and color on the bottom. I try to to a vertical flip but the vertical flip just seems to move the lamp up on the y axis. In previous versions the vertical flip would solve the problem if the legend flipped. This legend reversal problem even happens on a non mirrored lamps that I just insert on the SR side of the plot. What is happening here and how do I fix this. Thanks Steve
  23. In VW 11 the refresh lable and replace with active symbol buttons in the object info box would work with mulitiple instruments selected. Now in VW 12 it seems to only work on one lamp at a time. Is this intentional? I hope not. I found it much faster to replace symbols this way than with the actual replace command. Thanks Steve
  24. On your first concern: When I import to LW the suggested matches function always line up the "instrument type" from VW to the LW "instrument type" not "Instrument type other than CAd". So for me I always get the correct data in the correct LW column. Is this what you are talking about? As far as the striplight example, the instrument types can be set in the lighting info record as symbol defaults when editing the symbol. This does not affect the symbol name. You could call the cyc left, center, and right all MR-16 Strips for example, but still keep the symbol name. The MR-16 name would import to the insrument type column of LW. Steve
  25. In the edit layout section of the label legends manager select the color label of your paticular legend and click on the "wrap text" box. Steve Ross
