I set up a hardscape as a lawn with timber border. I went to the reshape tool and selected the hide or show edges mode and cant seem to be able to remove any of the edges?

It seems to happen only on this document,and luckily it was a "play around" doc so I have closed it and it is fine! Thanks for your help

I am not sure what i have done, but my selection box is about 10mm away from the tip of the mouse??

When I import my Heliodon tool it appears huge in relation to the plan. It has only happened on my last 2 drawings so i guess I must have changed the settings somehow. Any ideas how to get it to a reasonable size?

for some reason i can only render using open GL. I have Renderworks and all the options show, but if i choose say fast renderworks the screen is blank. my selection tool shows that the images are there but i cant see them?

I had a look at the link and i do File-Export-Export PDF. I had however imported the worksheets as viewports so switched to importing directly onto the sheet layer, but this also had no effect. The plant images are taken from the Vectorworks plant objects file and edited, so i am still stumped!

I have created a worksheet and inserted my plant symbols as image functions. It looks great in Vectorworks but when i export to pdf the images all have a black background. Has anyone else had this and if so any ideas how to remove the black background in pdf?

I need to put some road symbols on a plan, eg handicapped, movement arrows and no parking areas, are there any resources in the vectorworks libraries. i have had a look but cant find any!

I closed and re-opened vectorworks and opened a new file and the settings worked perfectly, but when i tried it with the file i am working on clear glazing did not work, so maybe i have set something up wrongly in that file which i will ignore for the moment and just use glazing blue.

Thanks Tamsin but i have already assigned glazing clear. its strange because the glazing clear works on my door tool but not on the window tool, although glazing blue works fine on the window tool. i will play around with it a bit more, maybe i have to turn vectorworks off and on again!

I had a look at the video, but the problem seems to be with the clear glass texture in the window settings. It works fine with doors but when i set the Glazing and transom glazing classes to glazing clear in the windows settings they come out solid, but if i set those classes to Glazing-Blue (where i created a class using the blue glass texture) they come out with blue glass. Very perplexing!

i have problems with my clear glass texture. when inserting a window or door and want to make it clear glazing i use the glazing-clear class for the glass but it comes out grey when rendering. i have set up a class to use blue glass and when i use that it works fine, but the glass obviously has a blue tinge. i tried deleting the glass clear texture and then re-importing it, so i wonder if it is in the settings?

I just tried the old faithful of turning the computer on and off again and it seems to have fixed it. i dont have time this morning to check on your exercises but worked on a blank document!

i have just joined VSS and upgraded to VW 2013. i have been going through Tamsins exercises that came with the disk and when i try to create hardscapes the original poly line moves and the hardscape disappears. i know it is there because the object info shows it but I can only see the blue markers (in a different place). I have tried lots of different ways to create them, including importing my old hardscapes but to no avail. i have never had this problem with 2012?

Thanks for that, i had my pads in classes according to what they were going to be, but once i put them in the site modifiers class it worked like a dream!

I have created some areas using pads and boundaries. in top plan i send them to the back to hide the red pad border lines and this prints up ok, but if i use a camera the border lines show up in the final rendering, any idea how to hide them?

Thanks for that. i export as pdf but as 300dpi and do not rasterize text so will give that a go. i have exported as image but was not happy with the results but will then try pdf through photoshop.

i have been having problems printing some of my files, especially 3d site models. the last file i exported as a pdf, and it came up as about 12MB, but when i took it to be printed the printer told me that when he opened it for printing it was 300MB and took about 1/2 hour to load! is there a setting i can use when exporting from Vectorworks or is it something i need to do in adobe?
