  1. Solved Getobjectvariablestring function is what i'm after used along side apendix G i have all the info i need.
  2. Hi, I have a lot of drawings that need to be dimensioned in imperial and metric. now the scale drawings are fine quick easy job but the drawing where they are not to scale will take an age to revise manually. What i'm tryong to do is have a script read the leading/trailing value perform the conversion then write in the added imperial value. now I have everything in working order apart from reading the leading and trailing value. now the setdimtext function sets these so I expected the getdimtext to read these values but it does not only the actuall dimension length.
  3. Yes. After reading the manual a bit closer it does state only 2d odject and walls in top/plan view viewpoints can have associate dimensions applied.
  4. Hello For some time now I've been trying to get my dimensions to work in a viewpoint of a 3d model the. From the manual supplied with 2008 (now using 2010) it states when adding a dimension to a view point anotation it should be associated to the object the same way that it does when drawing in 3d. The design layer is a simple extruded rectangle I create a viewport but when I add a dimension to the viewport annotation it will not alter when the design layer is altered. I'm using 2010 fundemental and have also tryed it in an evaluation copy of designer. 2d objects in a viewpoint work. Any help much appreciated.
