[core 2 mac mini running slow! 1min vs 11min]

at the office i have a old mac mini (1.4ghz? 1gb ram) and i can render 7 interior elevations in under 1 min. (hidden line rendering)

the same file running on my intel mac min (see below for specs) it takes over 11 min.!!

for thte same 7 interior elevations.

what is going on?!!

the above is not really true, but i think we should have the ability to show things that are buried in the DTM

thanks for the thought but it is not really going to work well.

first and formost a "pad" is for proposed not existing foundation work.

we need to be able to subtract a solid from the DTM while not destroying it's DTM features. then we could cut out existing foundation holes and what not.

ok, but will not my grade be set to the top 3d poly? which would be a flat plane.

the grade around the top of the existing foundation varies in height. what needs to be done is some type of subtraction tool for the DTM

not really, the top riser is part of the stair system not the floor system. think of interior stairs. the risers might some exotic material and one would want it to be part of the stair system not floor system.

the stair tool should show: top riser and nosing but no tread. in plan view the top nosing would be open on the back side so as to have no line when meeting the floor system and only show a dashed riser line.

i do not know but just make a new stair with the stair tool. this happened to me last week.

i had to use the site modifiers to get the existing foundation hole. now i have to use "proposed" to show it. hence it is no longer "existing"

what you get in the database header row is =(Door.ThreshThick) THIS IS WRONG.

should be =(Door.DoorThickness)

i always thought "auto-recalc" was so you did not have to push the recalculate button in the work sheet. example: if i make a change to my door width i would like to have my worksheets update on the fly. i always wonder if my worksheets are up to date just before i print.

[door schedule]

i would like to change the way the door schedule shows the size of the door.

right now it shows 3 for width, 7 for height & .167 for thickness.

i would like it to read 3'-0", 7'-0" for width & height then 1 3/4" for thickness.

how do i do this?

ok i figured out how to do the 3'-0 & 7'-0" but i cannot get 1 3/4" to show up. i keep getting 2"
