  1. It would be great if base trims could be someway associated with a wall. We commonly do flush bases. This is quite hard to model as you have to create a wall recess, then apply the base. I think it could be part of the wall style as a component or better yet, an additional option that is separate from the wall type. A you could have a few predefined options - and the ability to choose a custom profile.
  2. Rick! Fancy meeting you here. Hope all is going well. Thanks all for trying. To the wish list I go.
  3. Is there a way to customize the way Vectorworks displays dimensional data in symbols and worksheets? It may seem like a small thing - but I would like to add a dash in between the feet and inches of a dimensional read out. Right now in my VW Door schedule, for example, a doors width will read 2'8". I would like it to read 2'-8". We find this much easier to read. I also have created symbols with dimensional record fields that suffer from the same lack of formatting. Is there a way to customize this? Thanks, Tom
  4. I think the new render engine has helped a lot in overall quality of my outputs. One thing that I am craving is depth of field control for my renderings. One of the reasons RenderWorks always seems to have that computer edge to its renderings is that EVERYTHING is always in focus which is never the case with cameras or even with our eyes. It would be amazing to concentrate renderings on a certain aspect of the drawing by leaving the for and background out of focus.
  5. Its me again. On here for bi-yearly request for a Maxwell Render plugin. PLEASE!!! Vectorworks now uses the Cinema 4D render kernel. Cinema 4D and All Plan have Maxwell plugins - why no Vectorworks?? I would at least like to hear the party line on why this has not been created. It would make Vectorworks a MUCH more intriguing program to purchase. You are losing clients to Sketch-Up because the render quality you can achieve using the Sketch-Up Maxwell plugin surpasses what you can get out of Vectorworks. It is long over-due.
  6. I have been a PC Vectorworks user for a long time. I recently had to switch to a Mac, and was really thrown off by how none of the pallets could dock. Maintaining your work space is hard, and miss clicks send you to your desktop unless everything is perfectly sized. Pallets inevitably move around and slows down the work flow. You have it in Windows - it needs to translate - even as a toggle option - to OSx
  7. I have two large requests. 64 bit native operation. I find it hard to swallow that I am going to take a speed reduction hit of 5% when I upgrade to my new 64bit system. I am sure you are working on it. Second - Maxwell rendering plugin capability. I love RenderWorks for many things - but it lags far behind in some areas - most notably realistic renderings. T The plugin capability could be packaged with RenderWorks as to still encourage the sale of the product. I, for one, would still purchase it as my usual rendering style requires many overlays of different RenderWorks outputs. Some clients want a more realistic look that I can not deliver in Renderworks - and I am forced to move to Rhino, which has a plugin that still allows modeling and texturing to happen inside the workspace. Exporting the VectorWorks model and re texturing inside a different program is a workflow killer. I think you would see a fair bit of over the top amazing stuff coming out of VectorWorks models if it were a little friendlier other third party rendering software.
  8. VectorWorks needs to establish a relationship or whatever it will take to get a plug in for Maxwell renderer. I absolutely love most of the rendering options VectorWorks provides - they span a great divide of styles and settings - but RenderWorks falls short in the photo real. I am a student - and I can not get anybody to try to use vectorworks because it is the only program they can directly render with Maxwell.
  9. This feature - made known to me through Sketch Up - is incredibly useful. We are seeing a move away from classic architectural drawings to more explanatory isos when if comes to parts of CD sets and shop drawings. Being able to dimension and notate in 3D and have those dimensions and notations follow the model as you rotate it would be extremely helpful.
