Our engineers have been working diligently to determine how Windows 11 performs with Vectorworks 2021 and Vectorworks 2022. On September 30th, 2021, we installed the latest version of Windows:
Edition Windows 11 Pro
Version 21H2
Installed on 9/30/2021
OS build 22000.194
Experience Windows Feature Experience Pack 1000.22000.194.0
We were able to test Vectorworks 2021 SP4 and our current release of Vectorworks 2022 SP0 and verify that most of the previously reported issues have been resolved.
Please Note:
Windows 11 may require new hardware to run. If your CPU is 4 to 5 years old, most likely you will be compatible.
The complete list of system requirements for Windows 11 are:
Processor: 1 GHz or faster with two or more cores on a compatible 64-bit processor or system on a chip (SoC)
RAM: 4 gigabytes (GB)
Storage: 64 GB or larger storage device
Security: TPM version 2.0, UEFI firmware, Secure Boot capable
Graphics card: Compatible with DirectX 12 or later, with a WDDM 2.0 driver
Display: High definition (720p) display that is greater than 9” diagonally, 8 bits per color channel.
Our Q&A team conducted a general testing opening files and performing basic operations successfully in previous versions of Vectorworks including 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019 and 2020. Before you upgrade to Windows 11, we advise that you follow this post and be one of the first to know about updates and progress toward official compatibility with Vectorworks software once it is finalized.
