INTERMEDIATE ARCHITECT (5 – 7 Years), Oakland, CA

blinkLAB architecture is a small, research-based Architecture firm based in Oakland, CA. We specialize in commercial and civic structures in urban communities. Our current projects include ADU, multi-unit housing, libraries and commercial interiors.

 

We have an opening for an Intermediate Architect with 5-7 years experience working on multi-unit housing and civic/cultural structures.

 

We are a hybrid-work studio and the candidate should expect to work three days remotely. 

We are not a corporate office but operate closer to a studio format with model-making and fabrication capabilities.

 

Qualifications:

 

- B.Arch or M.Arch from an accredited school. Licensure is not required. We are happy to help with IDP

- 5 to 7 +/- years experience working on complex projects in all phases

- digital fabrication knowledge a plus

- Self starter with the ability to manage a project from conception to completion

- Experience with construction administration, technical detailing, prefab, CLT or Type 3 and Type 5 construction, and CA building codes

- Team player, with strong communication skills and the ability to manage tasks independently

- Ability to manage projects and work remotely using online file sharing and Zoom conferencing

- Availability to be onsite, or at meetings during business hours.

 

Prerequisite:

 

- blinkLAB uses Vectorworks for all design & construction documents. Knowledge of Vectorworks and the ability to quickly adapt to several software tools is critical.
