In 11.0.x, views that had some problem with them (such as a reference to a non-existent layer) were deleted on file read/import. I believe this was changed in 11.5 so the views would be repaired rather than deleted. Note that if they have been deleted, 11.5 won't bring them back; you would need to re-import the file from 10.5.
