JoeStan92
I've been having serious issues exporting a file from VW2014 to my version of Sketchup 8. I know that people say that you can export to an earlier version of SU 8 very easily but that doesn't help me when I can't seem to download any earlier version to do my work. I really need to be able to export me VW files to SU to make a CAD model as I don't have time to make a real model for my portfolio. Please help, it is much appreciated. Many thanks. Vectorworks, Inc Employee PVA - Admin Posted January 3, 2014 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted January 3, 2014 Once you export to the older skp version, you should be able to open that older version in the latest versions of SketchUp, is that not the case for you? Quote Link to comment
JoeStan92
I only have the latest version of sketchup and vector works. I have no older versions of either so I can't export to an older version then import from SKP7 > SKP8 etc. Quote Link to comment
Vectorworks, Inc Employee PVA - Admin Posted January 3, 2014 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted January 3, 2014 If thats the case and you're in a hurry, you can see what other formats sketchup is capable of importing and try those. I am not sure what SKP8 specifically can do, but generally CAD applications support 3DS and DWG. Quote Link to comment
JoeStan92
It's no use. It wont import DWF and VW won't allow me to export 3DS as I have the educational version. Many thanks for your help Jim. Quote Link to comment
