PTV
I am very impressed with some of the renderings displayed in the The NNA VW Gallery. However, the gallery does not provide any info about the objects used in the samples. I would like to know more about the 3d Object library shipped with VW Architect. The evaluation pack does not include the full 3D libraries or objects and I am not able to find much information about the libraries on the NNA website. Where can I see examples of some 3d work that was created in VW Architect without the help of a 3rd party software or 3d objects purchased elsewhere? I would appreciate your comments. Kind regards, Radek Quote Link to comment
Miguel Barrera
Radek, I checked out the gallery and from what I have observed is that most of the content was created by the user. VW ships with the most essential 2D/3D objects that you would use everyday (ie. doors, windows, furniture, appliances, building elements, trees, etc.). While most CAD programs, including VW, ship with static objects, VW includes what can be described as dynamic objects. In other programs you would need one object for each 2D, 3D, unique type and/or size and consequently, the need for an extensive object library would be much greater in those programs. In VW, the 2D/3D (hybrid) dynamic objects have a database attached to them which serve to define its unique attributes. You can change the look and size of the object by changing the appropriate field of its data record in the Object Info palette. To my knowledge, none of the other leading CAD programs have this technology. Most of the static objects shipped with VW are in files arranged by function or type. While designing, you can access these files and import objects through the Resource Browser palette. Unfortunately, I have VW Landmark which has a different set of objects than VW Architect and do not know exactly what is included in that package. You can also see that there is not much 3rd party libraries and software being offered because most users do not need anything else to do their work. Quote Link to comment
