G_Hannigan
I have recently updated to VW 12.5.2 (12.5.2.5505) and get the following error message when trying to open the Help file: "An error occurred while opening the help system. Make sure the "VWHelp" folder is in the same folder as the application." The VWHelp folder is in this location. I am able to open the help system directly, but not from within VW. Any suggestions? Guest
Is the VW folder in the Program Files folder? Have any of the help files been renamed, moved, or deleted? Quote Link to comment
G_Hannigan
Is the VW folder in the Program Files folder? Have any of the help files been renamed, moved, or deleted? Yes, the VW folder is in the Programs folder. I haven't moved, renamed or deleted any of the help files. This problem began after the update to VW 12.5.2. File structure - C:\Program Files\VectorWorks 12 contains : Vectorworks.exe, VWHelp folder, VW Help Resources.qtr Within the VWHelp folder is the index.html. Clicking this will open VW Help in my browser the way it should from the Help menu in VW. The error message appears when I try to open Help directly from the VW menu. George Quote Link to comment
Guest
This appears to have been a problem with the updaters over the weekend and has since been fixed. Unfortunately, the only way to get the update to work correctly is to uninstall and reinstall from a previous version (disk version). Download the updater (just posted not too long ago) and update the new installation. We apologize for this inconvenience. Quote Link to comment
G_Hannigan
Thanks for the info Katie. Maybe I'll just wait for the next update. George Quote Link to comment
Guest
There may be a few plugins and library files that were not updated either. If you have problems with plugins and/or library files, you may want to go ahead and reinstall, then run the updater. Quote Link to comment
