Import Export dwg

MikeC

Question

1. In the dwg import dialogue box the option to add a prefix to all imported acad layers (ie classes). This will allow the classes to be grouped together for management purposes. Doing it one by one is tedious.

2. 'What you see is what you get' export to dwg from a design layer. The problem is that AcadLT does not support whiteouts so anything hiding behind another object becomes visible.

As a thorn on their side for many years (from early Diehl Graphsoft to today's NNA) on DWG/DXF translations, I have come to appreciate the enormous capabilities of the current version as well as the inherent limitations of the two vastly different proprietary software applications. So I must comment...

1. Wouldn't Class and Layer Mapping help you manage imported classes? It's the latest, greatest, and most very effective Vectorworks weapon of choice when so challenged.

2. You are wishing for NNA to control Autodesk's fundamental algorithm to draw the filled polygon. Good luck.
