Repeat previous command by right clicking

wanderson

Question

So many programs have the ability to repeat a previous command by right clicking your mouse. It seems like a really simple but very effective tool which would save a lot of time and Vectorworks would really benefit with this kind of function. It would save going in and out of a command through the icon palette when using lines or offset etc etc.

I've got a lot to get off my chest today!

Once you get used to VectorWorks you won't have to use the offset tool the way you did in Autocad (I hardly ever use it). And then you won't even have to press the space bar to get the line tool again, since it will still be there.

Line is a "tool", not a "command". All the icons on palettes represent tools. A tool stays current until you change to another tool. A command, on the other hand, is shown on a pull-down menu, and it acts once only, like an Autocad command.

To work faster, I recommend using shortcut keys instead of all that. That would be like Autocad command aliases, except without having to press the space bar after each one. Single keys for tools, and alt/ctrl/shift-key combinations for commands. To customize the shortcut keys, pull down File > Workspaces > Workspace Editor.
