  1. So many programs have the ability to repeat a previous command by right clicking your mouse. It seems like a really simple but very effective tool which would save a lot of time and Vectorworks would really benefit with this kind of function. It would save going in and out of a command through the icon palette when using lines or offset etc etc. I've got a lot to get off my chest today!
  2. Is there any way that a tool that would allow you to draw multiple lines or even walls of a specific length one after the other without having to click in and out of the Object Length box before you draw each line could be introduced? In AutoCAD the command prompt bar allows you to just point mouse/type distance/ click mouse......point mouse/type distance/ click mouse...... and so on. It's a pretty fluid way to enter measured survey info whereas the currrent VectorWorks method (unless I've missed something) seems pretty cumbersome and slow. 3. I am trying to draw plans of a building several storeys high. I want to overlay an upper storey on a lower one in order to accurately draw common elements. I therefor need to snap to elements on the lower floor plan. In order to be able to distinguish between what is part of the lower floor plan and what is part of the upper floor plan it makes life easier by turning the lower floor grey but then I can't snap to any of the points. I can only snap to elements on the lower floor if I have it shown in ungrey and then I can't distinguish between levels. It's driving me nuts as accuracy seems almost impossible to achieve. Can someone please advise me on how I can work round this problem. I used to use autocad and all I would have to do is xref one floor into another, insert it at a common origin/datum and then draw. autocad would also let me snap to elements of the xref.
  4. All working now. Cheers Delmer you've rescued me from certain madness.
  5. Thanks Delemr, Downloaded plug-ins you mentioned. Do you mean the ones contributed by Katerina Panagiotakis? If so I seem to be having a problem with these too. I have edited my workspace and the new icons are now showing in my pallette/toolbar. The problem is that when I double click on the icons a message tells me I can cannot select the tools and tells me to make sure the it they are in the "Plug-ins" directory. Any ideas what could be going wrong here?
  6. Just started using Vectorworks 11 after 10 years of using AutoCAD so finding things a bit frustrating at times. How can I copy an item using a selected reference point. I AutoCAD you could click on reference point and copy the object to another location in the drawing by clicking on a second reference point. This could be done as many times as you wanted. Can somebody advise because it was a really useful command and I can't seem to find the equivalent in VW.
