How about a built-in search command? Take away the current "Send to Front" command from the "Command-F" keys (perhaps introduce Option-F and Option-B for those commands), and make VW like most other Mac programs that use those keys for their "find" feature.
It would be nice to see the Criteria dialogue box pop up, and when OK'd the page view goes to "Fit to Objects" (if appropriate), to the requested layer (if appropriate), inside nested groups (if appropriate), and have those objects selected, which can then be verified in the OI palette with a glance. I know this can probably be done with Vectorscript, but a built-in search feature that can find *anything* in any drawing might be very useful.
