  1. I am working on a concept plan and have a massing model. I would like to change the roof to show gables. When I indicate using the custom profile I am taking back to the basic geometry of the roof where I can change the shape of the room,m but I am unable to edit the roof criteria. Has there been a change to w2015 regarding editing the roof for a massing model?

    Thanks,

  2. I am working with a site model and placing hardscape objects on the model. I would like to use the hardscape as textured beds. However, textures are not appearing. I have created pads with grade limits and created hardscpes as textured beds. Why are the textures not appearing?

    Thanks,

  3. I am starting a new project and have requested a DWG file as well as a text file from the surveyor. I have importing the DWG file for property line and other pertinent data. When I imported the DWG file I did not get any lat or long values. I have also imported the text file for elevations. When I import the text file I find that the elevations are approximately 5.4 meters greater than the actual elevation values? What am i doing wrong? I chose under import survey data the ID, Northing.....option but I did see any choice regarding adjusting values?

    Thanks,

  4. I am starting a new project and am using a massing model with site modifier option ticked. How do I specify the site modifier be used for existing site conditions on the site model? Currently the massing model seems to be a factor in he cut volume. I would like to use cut and fill calculations for my proposed project work and would like the massing model / modifier to be for existing only on the site model.

    Thanks,

  5. Is there a way of deleting all duplicate plant records in file maker/data base. I know that you can manually delete a record. I am looking for a way of deleting all duplicates?

    Thanks

  6. Tamsin,

Thank you vey much for the suggestion. I have used textured beds for rendering and agree it it works well. I do think that there would be many advantages if we had greater flexibility by setting hardscapes with actual dimensions including thickness on site models with the prescribed slope. I think that it would be advantageous for sections, details and streamline the workflow process. I am an advocate of producing drawing that reflect actual site conditions. I will continue as you suggested. Always helpful!

    Thanks,

  7. Once again,

I am working on another landscape design with a site model. I have placed structures on the site and have a number of hardscape elements. I am adjusting the grades and setting elevations. When I am designed hardscape especially adjacent to residential structures, I always specify a slope to facilitate drainage. It would be very advantageous to have a hardscape tool that has the ability to set a slope and accurately reflect proposed grades. Elevations could be better managed when implementing hardscape if the designer has the ability to set hardscape elevations at specific points.

    Thanks, lm

  9. I find the Roadway Tools in Site Planning very limited. I do a lot of residential site planning with driveways and adjacent areas that may have an array of functions. I am always forced to come up with some work around solution as a result. I find it difficult when working with the roadway tools due to the restrictive nature. It would be very useful to have some flexibility with varied widths, configuration and shapes. I do not use this tool as often as I would like because of the limitations. This tool could be very powerful and more useful if the designer had a greater ability to change parameters reflecting today's reality.

    Thanks,

    lm
