  1. I believe I've posted this to the wish list, but one of the fundamental items missing from the VW modeling tool cache is a Floor tool that operates just like the wall tool does with components. The more I model in VW the more I see it's potential. However, the lack of items such as this create unnecessary issues at times. Also along this line, if the door leaf height could be adjusted that would help tremendously. Thanks.

  2. Is there a fence tool? A tool that draws a hybrid object that you could draw in top/plan and assign data. Or at least is there a decent workaround. Currently I would draw a piece of fencing or section and then duplicate it... not very efficient.

  3. I've been using the create roof tool often in recent weeks but keep running into dead ends and am wondering if I'm missing something or am pushing it's limits. Specifically, as soon as I add a few gable ends, the message "...too complicated..." appears. Also, in terms of detailing the roof I see limited control of crossing eaves and rakes when called upon. I've attached an image to help explain. In this case, even with a couple basic gables outside the main roof/ridgeline, the tool would not execute. Even if it did I don't believe I could get the eave at the gable to return the way I want. The gables in this example are individual roofs added to show the end goal. Any advice is appreciated.

  4. During the past couple days I've crashed doing the same thing several times but I don't know why. I'm working on a three story unit with slabs giving me six stories total. As the project is being developed and walls are moved on one floor, I'm greying the current floor/wall layout and then adjusting the other floors/walls layout by simply moving walls to the new location... and then CRASH!!! 5 times at least in the past 24 hours. All I'm doing is moving walls. Does anyone have any thoughts on this issue.

  5. Actually, everything you guys mentioned are aspects of the program I'm constantly both working with and editing/changing. I guess I'll have to be more mindful of what I was doing last in case it happens again.

    Thanks.

  6. I've posted this question before but didn't get any feedback and am still struggling with this issue. When I'm drafting the selection indicator of whatever object (line, wall, symbol, etc) disappears/becomes invisible. If I pan out or click off the object and then reselect it becomes visible. Now the object is selected even if the selection indicator is not visibile (it's info appears in the OIP and if I modify, move, or what have you, the action is carried out). However, not seeing the indicator has me constantly second guessing so I'm CONSTANTLY zooming in and out so that I could see the indicator.

Any feedback on this is appreciated. Thanks.

  7. The other day I was drafting when I realized ALL of the walls had become unjoined. I did the obvious and tried "undo" but no dice. Also, I know I came across this another time but figured it was an anomaly... apparently not. Has anyone else experienced this? Is there possibly a shortcut commend that does this? Is there anyway to correct this scenario without going back and manually reconnecting the walls... which is what did in this case? Thanks

  8. One of the stations in my office does not execute Custom Sash Options. You could go into settings, click on Custom Sash, change the number of columns and see it change in the viewer, but when you click ok it shows the window unchanged in the Window Settings (General) viewer.

  9. Liza, there have been various issues experienced by users and reported on the board (including myself) regarding the IFC import/export plug-in so this may very well not be resolvable at the moment. I do know however that this matter is receiving a great deal of attention at NNA. However, IFC import/export has been sensitive on all software in my experience so you may want to try just some minor changes to your import process and it may help. Sorry I couldn't give more advice.

  10. Just tested and knew there was an issue I've run into with DLVP and multi-scale layers before. The problem is that once I have my several layers stacked as DLVPs, I need an individual SLVP in the same scale as each DLVP... correct? It just seems a like a lot of work to reference one file. Is this still the best approach for what I'm trying to achieve?

  11. What's the best approach to reference a file that has multiple layers in different scales? I don't believe this could be done with a design layer viewport but that would be my first choice. Just so you know, it's a detail sheet so I have my 1",1-1/2",etc arranged on a sheet together.
