  1. You need to create a texture first.

In the resource browser click on the Resource pulldown>New Resource in file...>Renderworks Texture.

Under Color select Filtered Image and navigate to the photo you want.

    Deselect horizontal and vertical tiling.

Name the texture and hit ok.

That texture will now be in your resource browser.

Click on the object and double click on the texture or right click and choose apply.

In the OIP go to the render tab to adjust the image and/or use the Attribute Mapping Tool.

It's complicated at first, but after a while it will be much faster and easier...

    But that's what I said....

    Well done XOP15

  2. How do you apply the texture? and what do you see in the display of the Edit Texture window.

Could you map the texture to the solid and have you tried doing the same to a different solid?

I have done an extrude of a basic block and applied a texture.

In Edit Mapping Window, when Map Type is 'Plane' Repeat Horiz and Vert. 'off' and Scale set to '1'

The solid appears to have no texture applied, exept for a small part of it.

What is your finding on mapping the solid??

  3. I think that exporting to 3ds keeps textures attached. Can ACAD, or whatever is being used to create walkthrough, import 3ds?

Not quite sure what you asking there....

I needed to save to .dwg as I could not do the walktrough needed due to plugins not being installed. The next person used TurboCad for the walkthrough and could applay textures from his side, but those I selected and added to the drawing in VW was not kept after exporting.

  4. What size is the JPEG?

    Go to Resorce Browser,

Double click on an open space inside it > Create Resource window pops up > select Renderworks texture > Create.

Edit Texture window > Give it a name > Select Image Color > Import an Image File > {OK} > (find your image to be used > Deselect horizontal and vertical Tile if not wanted or just say OK >

Now you can set the shaders to a desired level and say OK.

It should now appear in the Resourse Brouser under the name you gave it in the texures tab....

  5. I did reinstall VW as it died on me. Posted in a thread here somewhere.

But is it not part of Spotlight or RenderWorks and I do understand we have done animation when still running VW10.

It will seem that I would have to call them.

    Thanks for the support

  6. I have had to export a VW drawing to dwg format for a client to use in a walkthrough (my plug-in files doesn't exist).

All the 3d components came through execpt the truss.

My question would be : does the .dwg file(AutoCad) hold the textures applied in VW as standard or is there something I have not done?

  7. I have the same frustration and glad I have not yet upgraded to 2009 as (I still need to shop around for a better Render program.

I have had many suggestions from the ppl on here. nl. Artlantis, Strata3D, 4DCinema, ESP Vision etc. I still have to gain access to one of these programs demo as I,ve had endless problems from IT to see and compare.

See some of the threads on here......

  8. Was wondering if someone could help me out with this VW Q

Doing a render (fast renderworks with shadows) and this black circle appears, but only when Litfog is selected on the background or the light of the fixtures in the drawing are off.

Would anyone know why this appears?? Or what I should do to get rid of it as I have never had this before and still rendering the same way.

It seems it is a shadow, but I still don?t get it. (see Att:5)

    Thanx
