You may want to see if the objects are on the same layer and class as well. If not try adjusting the layerscales so they are the same on all layers. You should also see if these objects are locked. try a select all and go to the edit menu and click unlock if available. After these steps you should be able to manipulate your objects for copy/paste. Goodluck.
