Park Supplies & Playgrounds is a privately owned playground and playspace design, manufacturing, and installation business that has been in the industry for over 35 years. We have a comprehensive range of high quality, New Zealand made playground equipment suitable to a range of commercial customers including schools, councils, early childhood education centres, architects, landscapers, holiday parks and many others.
We have an Auckland based office and factory where we do the design and manufacturing of our fully customisable playgrounds. Our team includes CAD designers, sales people, manufacturing staff and playground installers. We work nationwide to bringing play spaces to life.
We have an opportunity for a Product Designer to join our playground design team.
About the role:
In this role, you will work closely with and be trained by two experienced playground designers, designing modular and customised playgrounds to meet our customers requirements. The position will be involved with 2D and 3D CAD designing (Vector Works), Excel costing models, manufacturing and installation document creation and CNC machine production.
About You:
― Product design experience (2-3 years and above) within in a commercial manufacturing environment
― Some experience with the full design process from concept drawing to 3D CAD design, production of manufacturing documents and finished manufactured products
― Product Design or Industrial Design degree qualified
― Strong 3D CAD capability with Vector Works
― Experience with CNC manufacturing processes would be very useful
Playground industry knowledge is not required but an interest in childrens design, play value and the drive to develop fun challenging playgrounds is important. You will be highly organised in your approach and very comfortable with collaboration and teamwork.
The role is based at the company office and factory in Mangere Bridge, Auckland.
