  1. rDesign, thanks for your response, can you clarify one thing for me? I can't seem to find the Vectorworks Updater Software Application. In your post you are saying that you can "...use the Vectorworks Updater application in your Vw 2023 application folder" but I am having difficulty locating this folder. Is it meant to be the same folder that was used to install vectorworks, or is it simply the vectorworks installer?
  2. Hello all, I am attempting to download a previous update: VW 2024 Update 2. I want this particular version because it was the last update I had where Vectorworks ran smoothly before I updated to Update 4. Update 4 is beyond slow and the software application even crashes when rendering. My hardware is good and I have updated all drivers. At this point I would just prefer to get back to Update 2 so that I can get work done. Does anyone know how to install a particular update version? I see that I can download VW latest '23 version, but I don't specifically see where Update versions can be downloaded.
  3. Is there anyway to constrain clicking and dragging to the Z-Axis? Or any axis for that matter? I'd like to click and drag an object but constrain it to only one axis. If anyone uses Blender, this is a function you can achieve by selecting the object and pressing X,Y, or Z to constrain it to that axis. The closest tool that I know of in VW to get to a similar result is using the smart points snapping function, but this requires there to be an object, and is not limited to the axis.
  4. Quick question, just trying to figure out if there is any way to rotate a 2D or 3D object by clicking and dragging? Right now, I am only rotating objects by using the modify menu. If not, would anyone know of a plug-in to allow for this?
  5. I've just exported a vectorworks file from my pc and imported it onto my laptop. Now I have a lot of red highlights in my software. I've attached a screenshot so that you can notice the red text I am referencing. The red text is present in all of my snapping tools and on the 'snap to working plane' tool. The red text is also present in all of my layers, classes, viewports, and views when I click on them. This might be a simple error, but I'm a little stumped. I am not sure if this is just a setting or if the software is sending me some sort of error message with all of this red text and highlights. Anyone recognize this?
  6. Anytime that I attempt to set a singe step rise to be higher than 2ft, it won't allow me. It seems there might be a cap at 2ft. Please note my screenshots below. The first screenshot is of the object preferences for the stage steps tool. I have highlighted in yellow where I put it in for the single step rise to be 2ft 4 in. The second screenshot will show that once I actually place an object with this tool, the singe step rise value will automatically revert back to 2ft. Even when I try to change it from this menu, it does not help. Could anyone enlighten me here? Is there a hard cap at 2ft or is there some other setting attached to this one that I am not aware of?
