Every time I assign a class to an object, the object gets the attributes assigned to that class (line weight and color). How do I avoid that? Thanks

ok, that's what i tried. when i change class i say 'no' to assign attributes, the 'at creation' box is not checked. still, i get everything changed. how do i remove those attributes? it only happens to me on this new file, but i can't figure out what's the difference with the ones that don't do that. and the vectorworks manual is useless. thanks again.
