Is there a way to have window and door labels show up in a viewport elevation? Even the size would be great as I have to manually put in the sizes now. The opening direction shows up why not the size. I have a feeling I'm just dreaming but I though I'd put it out there. john t

Is it possible to turn off the dimension class on a greyed out main floor design layer in the second floor viewport with out turning off the second floor dimensions. What I want to see is the second floor with dimensions with the main floor underneath, greyed out, with no dimensions. Cheers John t

Wow wouldn't have guessed that one. Thanks a lot! I fixed the border and fill issue by restarting VW ;-s I'm still trying to sort out the main floor window and the second floor window schedual thing. Any ideas? john t

Also my door sched is not in numeric order. How Do you do that?

A couple of questions. How do I separate first floor windows from second floor windows in my schedules? My numbers are w-101.... first floor w-201 second floor. I'm trying to change the borders and shading of some cells and I try and I get a beep. jt

That seemed to work. I work with unified view but I must say I don't really understand it. What does that button do?

Even when I hit plan view CNT 5 in the plan view, the semi invisible object are still in 3d. Very strange

I started a unified view. Now my other saved view are all screwed up as in they seemed to be linked the the unified view. All the objects are there but invisible. I know this must be a toggle of some sort. Help! John t

Using this tool with walls: If I have either or both Wall Style Box - Wall Thickness Box selected in the tool settings then the tool will not pick any wall. If I don't have them selected the tool picks all the wall like it is supposed to. I want to pick all the 4.5" walls. Is this a bug? john t

Anybody know how to move the grid in a viewport? I would like to match the elevation markers and building sides with the grid.

Even the bubble style doesn't work. There is a just a blank field. Any help woild be appreciated. This will be the second project that I will have to make my window schedual with text because I can't get VW to function. Another issue I'm having is space tool. I would like the to hit each room with the bucket and have a rm name, number and size appear just like the video of this function. After an hour I had enough. Any Help would be greatly appreciated as I have to projects due for the building permit process

I click the location of the id, then the window. I get a ID settings dialog box with no options for the ID label. I do the same for the next window and it labels it the with same number. It tool seems corrupt. Any ideas? John T

Thanks Bill that helped. I have it looking quite good. C4D has a some differences to be sure. I would love to know how you made the image bump. I'm sure there are a few of us out here :-) john t

The lights did show up but the only shader is mirror @ 60%. I can't find metal or aluminum

Hi Bill, Your Jpg looks GREAT! Just what I was looking for. I opened up your vwx file and I have the roof object with the texture. But for the life of me I can't make it look your jpg. I put in some lighting and I final rendered it. But it looks flat. Any ideas?

Is there a description on how to create an image for bump map anywhere? I'm trying to make a standing seam roof. Do I create vw image?

Can you adjust the bump map to create a standing seam type texture? I just played around with it and I could not but I must admit that I'm not a pro at this aspect of VWR.

I want to make a standing seam metal roof look like one with the seems casting shadows. As well I would love if board and batt siding had the same look. Is there a way of doing this without modeling each seam or batt? john t

The grid inside a view doesn't seem to correspond to the elevations. Elevation 0'-0" is set to top of main floor which is great as I can use the automatic elevation markers. But the grid is not in the same position. So if I want to draw a box 4' down from 0'-0" I have to type it in. Is there a way to set the grid inside viewport with out effecting the grid in plan view or changing the elevation markers?

I'm making sections and elevations with section viewport. I find that every time I have to set up the layers and classes of that viewport as the tool doesn't seem to save its settings. Is there a way to set up the tool to make standard view ports? Has anybody tried to set up a template with the sections and elevation viewports already set up. So as you draw the in plan the sections and elevations are magically appearing on their respective sheets? Sounds like a good idea for those of us doing single residential.

I found a bug in vw 2011. If follow the instructions VW crashes. 4x in a row. But when it works...... wow.
