  1. Yes I was working on some details. So I converted some dwg versions of hangers. Thanks, JM
  2. I see all kinds of fasteners in my tool set even a 'detail wood cut' tool, but no hardware like joist hangers, post bases, brackets....Simpson stuff! Is there a resource for these items?
  3. If I want to remove some of the columns/fields associated with a door schedule, do I edit it like any other spreadsheet? It will only affect the one door schedule that I am working on, correct? Can I save the DS after I modify it to my liking for use on future projects?
  4. I had a symbol that was composed of 2d & 3d features. I converted the symbol to a group, un grouped it (don't remember why), edited it and saved as a symbol. Now none of the 3d objects are visible in top/plan view. In an iso view they appear, but then the 2d objects do not appear. Is there solution to this or do I have to re-draw a bunch of stuff?
  5. I would like to override a graphic attributes of my wall styles in a viewport. Instead of having solid lines for walls, my engineer prefers dashed lines. Is it possible to make such an alteration to wall styles in a viewport? I've been trying, but no success.
  6. I made some changes to classes (color used) and then ran the command and it removed a few more, but the button "purge unused" is still ...um err... "live", not grayed out that is.
  7. Is it possible to add bullet points to text? Special symbols? Or just plop a 2d filled circle?
  8. I found I had about 100 colors in the current document with most being unused and some duplicates. Purge did not remove unused or duplicates.
  9. Thanks. I hate it when the solution is just under my nose! Sorry for such a dumb question. Have a good weekend.
  10. I know you can control auto-join from VW preferences, but is there an "on-the-fly" way to control auto join? I am working on a basement and I don't want my framed walls to join the concrete.
  11. What could have caused my snap palette to not allow me to resize/shape it? I move cursor near edge and it changes to double arrow, but will not affect the palette. Attribute palette the same. But basic and tool sets can be manipulated.
  12. What is the simplest way to move these two windows so that the space between them centers on the center-line? See Attached. Reshape tool not solving it.
  13. Hmmm. Okay, I have 2015 SP4. Is SP5 still available?
  14. On a 2d elevation view I used a Tile for some stonework. Also I used Hatches for lap siding and shingles. All publishes to pdf correctly except the Tile. It does not print. If I just "print" one page it shows up, but not in "publish" mode.
  15. when inserting a window in a wall (top plan view) when it is time to set the 'flip', which way do you drag your cursor? What I want to know is how is the interior verses exterior of a window determined? Does VW intuitively know? Or is there a particular way to set the window?
  16. that is what I thought. i move the cursor near an edge and it changes to an arrow but will not affect window at all. maybe there is some super precise location...i'll keep trying.
  17. I moved my snap palette and it changed from horizontal orientation to vertical and I have no idea how to change it back. Anyone, please. Thanks.
  18. I used the 2d symbol approach. It works, but I wanted the other stamp in place of mine. Thanks,
  19. I need to add engineers stamp to a couple of my sheets, others do not need it. Is it possible to have a stamp class visible on a couple of sheets but off on others without using viewports?
  20. Is there a hidden tool or perhaps one of the text tools that I'm not aware of to place a shape like a triangle or diamond with text in it? I need it for identifying shear walls, etc... The revision bubble works if I don't need to use a letter. Only numbers.
  21. I like to show the threshold at exterior doors. Plan view a line flush with interior wall and exterior side 1-1/2" or 2" beyond door jamb return flush with jamb. I get it set up in door settings, but when I go to my model the threshold is to the interior rather than exterior. It is a swing in config. I can flip the door but the threshold stays in place. Does anyone use thresholds? Mr. Cipes? Or just add some 2D touches then model the exterior if really necessary. Or do I just reverse engineer the data in the threshold settings. Because really the door doesn't know which is interior or exterior does it?
  22. For the look in 2d I just put a 2d polygon with a white or 5%gray fill. This will get me through the 2d plan production.
