Why would my walls only be visible in a top/plan view? In a right/iso view i tried to place a couple of new walls and when I complete the command they disappear from view, but are visible in top/plan.

Any new solutions in the last 10 years to the NANA issue?

Is there a way to get cased openings to show dashed lines for the overhead part of cased opening? I gave up and placed lines to show my intent. Without the dashed lines we don't know if the opening continues to the ceiling or not.

Just where is this storefront tool hidden?

It is just "stair" my other option is "simple stair" I like the que " please enter a value for offset 1 " there is no box with this label on this page and you cannot advance to other tabs unless yo enter a value. Also I hate that you cannot input floor to floor height and number of risers and have VW calculate riser height. There are $99 home 3-d programs that do this easier. I'll go back and check my calculations I'm sure I made an error.

Got it figured out. You must input numbers in correct sequence or you kicked out. Now, I need to copy this stair and flip it. So there is some secret to doing this as selecting it and surrounding walls I am only able to copy, mirror image.

Must a simple U-shaped stair require one to go insane trying to input the geometry??? I think a framer could build the stair in the time it takes to enter the geometry in VW.

no door object existed prior to attempting making the class.

I just love starting a new fresh clean VW drawing. No classes and when I start creating new classes and I try to create "door" class and receive the message, "cannot because the name is being used by another object" I can't find this object. where is it hidden? maybe if i insert a door it will appear....no, no such luck.

Another in long list of dumb questions (is there a VW for dummies?) I like the move by points tool and use it frequently to move objects and copy objects as it allows precise location placement. So sometimes I have 1 or more duplicate objects then back to 0 for move objects. I wish there was a way to have 0 be a default or available with a hot key or something so as to avoid having to change the number of duplicates. I would set number of duplicates to 1 and then when wanting to simply move I would start the command and hold the M key. Does this exist? Wishlist?

Using a separate layer for each scale seems logical to me. When you go from one layer to another do you find that the drawings move about the page? Maybe has something to do with internal scale factor verses orientation from 0,0? I've tried using annotation viewport and for some things I still do, but when make a change you have to follow up. Almost making the changes twice. Thanks for all the suggestions. I'll experiment.

Yesterday I successfully published a set of drawings from 3 different files and saved the set. Today VW cannot find half of the files. I "select folder" and nothing is found. WHY CAN'T IT REMEMBER WHERE THE FILES ARE?

Still struggling with organizing my 2d details. I have a grid that matches my sheet that is divided into 20 boxes. One grid is drawn 1:1 then I copy it and scale it to the scale of the details, say 16, for 3/4" details. Elements are drawn 1:1 - real world. I have left the layer at whatever scale the majority of drawing is, say 1:48. Then create viewport(s) on a sheet. Sometimes and I can't really nail down the circumstances but it seems that 10pt. (or whatever size) is not always consistent. Ever had this experience? Should I instead have a "Detail" layer and change the scale for that layer? Seems like I have run into problems mixing scales. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I so want to have a template file because every job is a new experiment and it is time wasting.

Inherited a file where the page center is way out in timbuktu (1800' x 1400'). Is it possible to move it closer to origin and what are the consequences?

Tried to copy a floor plan to a new file. Received warning "Stair: Impossible to draw stair on chosen Upper Layer." How do I solve?

Thanks for suggestions. I checked and unchecked this and that and then set all attributes to by class - after verifying class settings were correct. Seems to be working fine now. Thanks again.

I don't want to have a fill associated with the text. But now i have selected solid fill - white and moved on.. Too many of these little quirks. Time consuming to try to resolve. Does anyone know: do typical VW users, use VW just for prelim design / models and then switch to something else for actual const. doc's? I just can't seem to tame the beast! Not giving up yet.. Maybe I just have some issue with my installation because my windows get filled and text gets filled....my installation is just fixed on filling things.

Object? Text. Yes I have a class with red fill but not the current class and not the "text" class.

Are there any bugs known with the attributes palette? I have a class with fill style set to "None". In the AP, fill style is set to "By Class" The result should be text without fill or background. I get text with a bright red background that I have to manually change. Why does it just behave on its own?

I have found that adding a space before a single numeral or letter and a space after gets pretty close to a square box. But a fixed shape would be preferred. Same with the other shapes. The graphic presentation is just better and easier to read if the shapes are a consistent size.

Wish there was an option to make the BOX bubble style a fixed size. Square, not rectangle.

So using the split tool works. It is just an extra step. If there is a better way somebody please let me know.

Wish I could "connect/combine" or otherwise trim the diagonal lines and in some instances a linear material to the break line tool. Is the break line tool supposed to do more than just be a symbol? It would be nice if you could place the break line and then decide which geometry to keep and which to cut.
