Somehow applying a storefront to the building's curve? I could even consider mapping an image to the building's curved volume (even though this would not reflect a realistic 3d look). No, Katie, no error message, just cannot get it to even show in broken line, as if the tool doesn't engage... also now having problems with other tools in that nesting (same file)...

Can't get my drawing label to work. Working on an imported (DWG) file and cannot get dwg. label to click. Other tools will work, but not label... any idea of this problem? Thanks

I'm getting constantly interrupted by a Norton AntiVirus Worm Protection alert stating that "a remote system is attempting to access on my computer", and the path leads to Vectorworks.exe. What's this about? Any tips to eradicate these interruptions? Thanks VW 11.5.0 XP

Can anyone (Katie?)give me a lead on this problem and if there's a solution. Benchmark text goes GIANT when I move VP. Then need to select and re-size... if there are previous threads on this please direct me. Thanks

Placing elev benchmarks in VP annotations at default text size, but after exiting if I move location of VP on sht. benchmark text gets blown up to giant size! Then need to go back and re-adjust all benchmarks... Anyone else having this annoying occurrance? XP / 11.5.1

Michael: I have my own practice in South Florida and use Vectorworks as my CAD / Rendering package. I'd guestimate I only "model" about 1/4 of my projects, and then some to different degrees. I do exterior and interior renderings, and sometimes only to a "rough" level (no textures, no fancy lighting, no backrounds, etc.. I then trace over and work further with markers, but get very effective and accurate shaded and colored "sketches". But I also do some "realistic" renderings with Renderworks and get VERY good results. Although I may start with the same document I'm using for my CAD documentation, I always end up having a stand alone file for the 3d stuff. This allows me to focus on getting the right areas developed properly and so can better focus my effort. Sometimes enhance (adjust colors, contrast, add images, collage, etc) renderings with Photoshop. Hope this helps you in your assesment.

Travis: Just saw your post on General Discussion. I thought I had sent my file in for review, but checked my sent items and could not find a record of it. Will send it tomorrow. Did you have a slow issue as well when using the tool? I have been VERY hesitant in using this tool since I've spent lots of time correcting the leaders, and handed out drawings with quircky leaders... Hope it can be corrected soon, since it would be a great tool if it worked...

BUG?! Can someone at Tech Support take a look at this issue. There is certainly a problem with the leaders, and if they are not reliable they are USELESS. Don't mean to sound mean, but the bottom line is, as a professional, if I cannot count on the reliability of a tool it is worthless... Thanks

But of course... layers is the answer: I can create one for each layout and adjust their visibility according to which option I wish to show. Thanks Mike.

working on different workstation (furniture) layout options so set up my drawing with 3 different classes for the 3 different options. I created 3 different viewports from the floor plan, and set the class visibility for each so it would show a different layout each. Thought I got it right until I assigned the symbol I had created for the workstations a class so I'd be able to "switch it off" on the other 2 options, but then I could not use the symbol again in my other viewports, since now it had a class that made it invisible in the other viewports , and so would only work for the one option. Ended up having to duplicate and rename the symbol in order to be abble to assign it to different classes. I'm sure there's a better way, but haven't got there yet... any takers?

XP / VW11.01 The right button is very handy and saves lots of trips accross my monitor, so how do I add / edit the menu options? Thanks for any efficieny tips

No real answers to my previous query. Keynotes are great if they worked right... Way too slow to input and keynotes flip around when you open file from other computer. They show up anywhere but where you put them! Also leaders shift relative to number. This can be resolved by double clicking on keynote and entering the edit mode. Any fixes?

Charles: Thanks for your reply. For the record I've put my keynotes on the "annotation" section of the viewport, could that be the problem? Where do I send my file?

Katie: unchecked "adjust flopped text" and at least now I can see the flipped text on my screen and correct it. You haven't answered about the shifting leaders...

Katie: Not sure what that means. I've moved the viewport, and the design layer (small adjustments to fit on page, etc.). Additionally, upon plotting found several text upside down. These were mostly call outs that had been cut and pasted from another viewport! But the text is right side up on screen!! Not good.

VW 11 / Windows XP Using the nifty key note tool that places boxed numbers with a leader on my drawing with referenced notes elsewhere on drawing. Problem is that every now and then I notice that some leaders have shifted upwards and are no longer centered with box!!! If I double click on them they adjust themselves... but then have to do it again when I open drawing. Is this a bug?

if I click on something, say a line, and change its class, why doesn't its thickness change to the one assigned to that class?! I think I remember being able to do this...? Grateful for a response.

Katie: Would like to use Arial Narrow consitently. Don't know what font the "other " one is (nothing's chequed when I look at the font pull down with the anoying font selected) Working on PC. Looking forward to your post.

VW 11 / XP Still having inconsistent fonts when opening file from one workstation to the next. Can't get default font to "stick" showing a check mark next to it... anyone have a solution / suggestion?! thanks

unable to set default font on 2nd workstation, font won't "stick" (no check mark visible. Mapped fonts to be convereted to Arial Narrow, but still having fonts show up differently when I open file from different workstation. Original workstation has font set to default to Arial Narrow, but still shows up different on second workstation and on plots!!! Need some help please...
