  1. I do understand the issue regarding the correct data, but in the case of Spotlight you always add the Channel number / Unit number to your fixture. That would be the unique identifier for Vectorworks to match to. I create my patch in another software then Vectorworks as some of the modes are not correct or there is no GDTF fixture available etc. Atm I have to manual insert the patch in Vectorworks which can result in errors, with the new Excel referencing I was hoping to find a way to import a CSV / Excel and link it to an Lighting Device.
  2. Hi All With Excel referencing Vectorworks made a big step in my opinion. With that being done is it possible to import for example a CSV / Excel with patch data and link those columns to Lighting Device info? Cheers
  3. Here you go. It's indeed looking like it's not properly connected but it's a loop I got stuck in as if I fix one it appears somewhere else.
  4. Hi all It's been 2 times on very short notice that for some bizar reason when I draw a truss square or another shape that is closed the truss is not snapping properly. Don't get me wrong, it's all proper snapped but when I run it thru Braceworks it says Structural elements are not connected and when I zoom in on the error I see there is a slight mis match on the truss but it seems like a forever loop if a try to snap it all again... Anybody that can help me?
  5. Hi all, I hope i'm not the 1000'th person to ask... I like the new inventory & equipment list but got 2 main issues / questions: 1. When I build the Equipment Summary Key it also shows the 3D symbol of a truss for example... I understand that it just looks in the resource browser but in this way it makes the list very long. Is there a way to not show the 3D symbol. 2. Can I change the category of symbols in the inventory & equipment list to what I category I want it to be? As many of the symbols show up as Symbol in stead of truss / audio / ... Thanks!
  6. Thanks for your reply! Is that something that can be implemented in the future? As in entertainment this is a common thing to do.
  7. Hi all I'm sure somebody asked this before but I couldn't find the correct discussion. I have about 20 trusses and all of the trusses have 14 drops of 2m with a light at the bottom. Is there a way to snap the pipe to the truss so that Braceworks / Production assist can calculate this? Thanks!
  8. Hahaha okay! Is there a way of copying the value from the device to the equipment by using worksheets? I tried '=TheCellThatContainsTheDeviceinfo' but doesn't seem to work...:(
  9. Hi hi I'm using the 8 custom parameters for Device info and for Equipment info. They are both exactly the same. Is there a way to link Device Info and Equipment info together so when I update my device info, it's also updated in the equipment / rack elevation? I already thought about changing the custom parameters for a record but the issue is the same... In my case i'm using custom parameters for IP adres, subnet mask etc. Love to hear what the preferred way of working is here.
  10. When you are in the device builder looking for your gear there is a field Label symbol and even with creating a new device it always goes to the generic one. Wouldn't be more logical that it remembers the setting of Label Symbol in custom devices?
  11. Hi all I know there are probably already a lot of conversations regarding this but none of them is up-to-date I think. What would be your perfect Workstation configuration. I'm looking at: - AMD Ryzen™ Threadripper™ PRO 3975WX (32 cores version because the 64 cores is more then double the price and I don't need all the cores) - Nvidia A6000 Any tips, recommendations???
  12. Hi Probably topic 103040201 about this but I don't seem to get it fixed. I have a DWG drawing that I want to import in VWX but after the import the measurements are not correct. I don't want to scale the drawing after the import, as this is not good practice. Can somebody tell me what i'm doing wrong? The DWG in attachment. My import settings so far: units: cm and I put the scale to 1:1 Thanks! A_A0_BT_100_101_300_20170508.dwg
  13. Is there a way to add data tags to connectors on a panel? I can add datatags to the actual panel but not the connectors from what I can see, is that right? I've created some custom patch panels and now making viewports of them and I want to add info to each connector so it's easy for the warehouse to prep them. A worksheet woud do the job aswel, but can't seem to find a way to list all the connectors in 1 patch panel... Thanks!
  14. Hi So in VW Spotlight you can add Datatags as Viewport annotations. Very handy to give extra information to the guys that are actual building it. I want to do the same with ConnectCad but when I create a Datatag I can only link it to the actual rack...Is there a way to link it to the actual equipment? So I can add some additional information with the equipment in the rack without the need to input everything 20 times. Below a picture of what I really want to achieve.
