  1. I wish there was an ability to rotate and scale multiple vertices simultaneously on a Nurbs object.
  2. No duplicates, I know usually with more then one you have black dots. It seems like every file has a few of these, and some of my stucco textured trim waffles also, only they're small, so they're not as much of a hassle. Thanks, SacSurfin'
  3. Anyone know why some random walls get a sort of waffle grid with stucco texture applied? Only a handful but it seems like there's at least one in almost every file. They're all set to a wall class and they're all actual walls. Thanks, SacSurfin' VW 11.0.1 - Mac OS 10.3.5 - G5 Dual 1.8 GHZ - 2 GB Ram

  5. My light source isn't the problem the objects right next to the olive color is right and the whole object is olive except for the shadows which are obviously darker. Furthermore I have three different variations of the house with the same lighting and landscaping and not all have olive problems Most of the olive objects are trim (not plug-in trim) around arched windows when more then one window has to share the trim. Thanks, SacSurfin' VW Architect 11.0.1 - Mac OS 10.3.5 - G5 Dual 1.8 GHZ - 2 GB Ram
  6. For some reason in numerous files I have several objects assigned to the same class with same texture, but some objects are a little darker then others. In one case in particular some are tan and some are more of an olive color. I've checked the objects for differences and similarities, but there is nothing in common with either of the colors. Not impossible to fix post-production but time consuming. Any ideas? Thanks, SacSurfin' VW Architect 11.0.1 - Mac OS 10.3.5 - G5 Dual 1.8 GHZ - 2 GB Ram
  7. I noticed that objects and walls texture differently, sometimes for trim and misc. architecture parts it is faster to make and object and subtract or add or what have you. But upon viewing my renders I can see the objects with the wall texture have a nonuniform appearance and is totally distinguishable from the actual walls. they have a kind of wavy appearance and drives me mad. Post production eliminates these inconsistencies but is very time consuming. Is there anyway to fix this? Thanks, SacSurfin' VW Architect 11.0.1 - Mac OS 10.3.5 - G5 Dual 1.8 GHZ - 2 GB Ram
  8. Thanks Propstuff, I've been stumped on this one for a very long time.
  9. Nicholas, you didn't happen to do that in VW did you?
  10. That works somewhat but to be realistic it needs a glow to the light, when I see light in life I see a glowing circle of light not just the shape of the bulb
  11. Currently you can only assign multiple textures to walls, This ability on all objects would help tremendously. It would cut down on modeling time. and give you more control over placement, I'm currently modeling a truck and I have some graphics I'd like to put on it, so the ability to put one picture on the top, one on the right, and one on the left would let this be accomplished easily. It can probably be done now but there would be alot of measuring and movement of the one big wrapped texture, then alot of trial and error to map it right.
  12. Your lighting effects and shadows are great, but I'd like to see the light the lighting is cast from. Actually setting a visible light in a lamp or porch light would be great.
  13. Is there any way to make a visible light source show through a porch light or other lighted object. Any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks,
  14. Is there currently a way to make a visible light source in VW11. I know how to make lighting but haven't found anyway to make a good light source, like in a porch light or street light, asides from using other software. Any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks,
  15. I noticed once it was changed to plane mapping my renders began working also, though I couldn't attach plane mapping to face and couldn't move bouding box. I rotated bounding box to a useable orientation. I still don't know what the problem is but luckily I can work around it.
  16. Well, I've found that setting the mapping to plane instead of perimeter let's me at least open the mapping edit box without crashing but I can't change which face to attach plane to or move the bounding box at all.
  17. While the progress bars are filling my 200' by 200' ground object crashes VW 11, but without ground object everything works smoothly, I've rebuilt the plane twice but to no aveil. They crash VW also. Any suggestions? Thanks, Brian
  18. In the PC Tech Guide I read The geometry stage, performed by the CPU, handles all polygon activity and converts the 3D spatial data into pixels. The rendering stage, handled by the 3D hardware accelerator, manages all the memory and pixel activity and prepares it for painting to the monitor.
  19. We have a dual 1.8 G5 we have roughly three hour renders, we can spend thousands to get a 2.5 G5 or spend a couple hundred on a graphics card. The card is supposed to improve quaility, remove abnormalities, and speed up render time. Unserstanding a 2.5 G5 would speed up render time, but that's it, we'd still have to go into another software package to fix abnormalities and wouldn't get a better quality image. Photorealism is a pain.
  20. The technical breif says it has a function to eliminate rendering pixels that are hidden. But that's only inOpenGL? I don't know much about graphics cards so anyone know exactly what I would be gaining in an upgrade?
  21. My current projects are about 200 MB, which are only the exterior elevation and landscaping. But in the future we'll be doing streetscapes of these models and walkthroughs. Currently on a Rage128 I incur many render problems with abnormalities, random still with BG image props and roughly three hour render times on a dual 1.8 G5 and it will only get worse. I know we could use a high-end 256MB video card but I can't find much about these. Although I just found a awesome sounding ATI 9800 Pro Special Edition which would make my life alot easier.
  22. I'm still kind of new to this Macintosh system and haven't found much in the high-end graphics card department, I've read there aren't many out there, but if anybody could possibly help me out with some ideas on where I could possibly find one would be appreciated, I trying to basically build my system around VW. But the internet info on this subject is scarce. Thanks, Brian
  23. Nevermind I added a layer to separate groups and once removed the file size went down to 6.7 MB
  24. Nevermind, one layer was added and once removed file size changed to 6.7 MB
  25. I have been trying to compress a symbol to email, so I've added as many of the same colored objects together as I could and then converted them to Generic Solid and my file size went from 12.6 MB to 19.3 MB. I understand the reasoning behind ridding the objects of editing capablities to compress and it should logically downsize my file but it doesn't. I'm stumped, is there certain restrictions I don't know about? Thanks for any help, Brian
