    I guess it's a long shot, but the ability to assign a color to the (often very long) classes/layers in the dropdown list and organization panel would help a lot with navigating quickly. Also a dark and modern UI update would be very welcome. Certainly on Windows it's much too bright, slow and has a very 'windows 95' feel to it. Something like this:
