  1. Thanks for the excellent responses! Jan, thank you for taking a lot of your time in responding to the post. I have a question for VW Architect 9 or 10 regarding camera tools in which to generate a series of elevations. If changes are made on floorplans in 2D (moving/relocating doors/windows, etc.), are the elevations automatically updated when the drawing is regenerated? I have not received the demo yet, and I apologize if this has been covered. Bottom line, is VW a parametric software package? Regards, Dave Riverside, CA
  2. Jim, Thanks for your response. Are there similarities between AutoCAD and VW? It looks like VW's toolbars are completely different. I was hoping to find out other users opinions on the differences between the three packages. As you know, it's expensive (time / cost) to switch platforms and learn a completely new software. Would like to find out from others on sending files to a reprographics shop - as I do not own a plotter. Has this been difficult with VW? Best regards, Dave Riverside, CA
  3. I just found your excellent web site and have a question. I am a registered Chief Architect R8.05 user and am strongly reviewing other architectural design software programs to switch to. My background has been in AutoCAD 2000 and my company designs high-end custom homes. I switched to Chief after reviewing their demo and logging onto the Chief Talk site to discuss aspects of their software. I bought the software last August and was satisfied until it came time to plot. After completing the first project, and sending the files out to a service bureau for plotting, it was a nightmare to say the least. Chief has a proprietary script and does not have AutoCAD drivers which the SB uses. The workaround was to send via PDF format (eDocPrinter Pro) but the tradeoff was lineweights do not show variation and there is no WYSIWYG using their pixel lineweights. It's not like AC which utilizes lineweights in mm's. I recently have been reviewing Cadsoft Build which contains the AutoCAD engine (AutoCAD LT)and would like to know if anyone has used this or migrated to VW Architect from Cadsoft? The price is identical to VW Architect, but I'm not sure of the number of "seats" that they have. I have sent for NNA VW Architect 10 demo, and would like any possible feedback on differences between the packages. Thanks. Best regards, Dave Riverside, CA
