  1. robert, thanx. i actually did that a little while ago. hopefully they can figure out what is going on.
  2. thanx so much for all the great advice. i've now got my interior elevs. but, i still am having the same problem with my 2d section. i've checked classes, fills, etc. but am still having the same problems. i'll keep trying though.
  3. i really need an answer on this one. is this a bug or is it something on my end? i've got this ceiling plan in a different file so that i won't corrupt the original and certainly cannot proceed in my drawings with this kind of problem.
  4. would someone be willing to share some tips on creating elevatons, sections & interior elevations? i am a new user (coming from microstation) and still on the learning curve. i'm trying to get through a small project and keep running into difficulties in getting out the basic drawings. i have tried to cut a building section but i only got a few walls and nothing else (like doors in the wall) showed up not even floor or clgs. when i did an interior elevation, i got a lot of lines coming up from the doors that i didn't need. i tried to add a filled shape over these lines but they still showed up. cherie vw architect 10.1/osX.2.4
  5. upon further inspection....i'm missing some room names, doors, existing windows, millwork, toilet fixtures after quitting and reopening the file.
  6. i closed vw and opened it again....task manager seems to be working now.
  7. robert, i reinstalled vw works like you said in a new directory and went through rcp process again. on rcp drawing, i used "show ceiling view" with no problems: everything worked and showed up this time. i then went back to the plan and ran "show plan view". the vectorscript message "the "ip resources" file was not found" popped up at the bottome of the screen, door and windows did not change from rcp view. i then got a beep sound and the doors/windows changed to plan view. i then went to task manager and got the same alert as before, "required date file "task data.txt" has encountered an undetermined error".
  8. and none of the doors/windows went to ceiling view.
  9. robert, i adjusted all doors to be on the door-main class, went to reflected ceiling plan, ran show ceiling view and i got the vectorscript message "the "ip resources" file was not found".
  10. after running "show ceiling view" on rcp drawing, i go back to the plan sheet and run "show plan view" and i get this vectorscript message (pops up at bottom of screen) "the ip resources file was not found". i then tried to run task manager and i got this alert message "required date file "task date.txt" has encountered an undetermined error". cherie vw architect 10.1/osX.2.4
  11. just used the "show ceiling view" command on my rcp drawing and some parts of walls and windows are missing. cherie vw architect 10.1/osX.2.4
  12. can anyone out there recommend an outsourcing cadd service (using vectorworks of course)? cherie vw architect 10.1/osX.2.4
  13. i also just got an alert "task data.txt". i had just figured out how to make my doors/windows behave properly on the rcp. the sills class was not visible so then i use the show ceiling command and it was ok. i went back to the plan and used show floor view command....some of my rooms names did not show. i went to task manaager to go to the room names task and i got the above message. now the file is frozen and i will have to probably force quit the program to clear it out.
  14. i need this process explained a little more clearer than the manual. on my rcp plan, i use the show ceiling view command but none of my door/wdws are visible not even in clg view. i've got them on the sills class (from using task manager). and when i go back to the floor plan and use the show floor view command everything shows up but my room names. also...what is the best way to add ceiling joists at this point? cherie vw architect 10.1/osX.2.4
  15. i just figured this out myself...i had the appliances checked as showing up grey so, i switched them to visible.
  16. i've done a perspective of the interior at the kitchen. while i have the drawing in wireframe, the appliances are there, but when i do a hidden line rendering they disappear. is there a way to make them show up? cherie vw architect 10.1/osX.2.4
  17. yes jim that did help. thank you. it always seems so obvious after it is explained clearly.
  18. i'm having a hard time creating perspectives and elevations. i was trying to create a specific perspective view using "set 3d view" and when it generated the perspective window nothing was in it but the surface grid. i was on a model layer that i created for the perspectives (because i forgot to add it when i went through setup assistant). when i used the "model view" tool, i only got a flat plan drawing....nothing 3d about it. also, how do you cut a section and show things beyond the wall that are cut? cherie vw architect 10.1/osX.2.4
  19. katie, thanks, that worked. and thanx to all of you: you've been so much help to this new user. cherie
  20. katie, i am not getting the "edit symbol" option when selecting the door id and it doesn't look like there is a scale option in the object info window. bear with me....i just know i'm missing the obvious. cherie
  21. ok well, it looks like if i'm a little more careful when placing the door id, this problem does not arise. i still have large door ids (i've got an 1/8" plan). could you go over the process of changing the id size again? and after changing this, do i have to resize again when i do a project at 1/4" scale?
  22. "The cursor looks like a + sign while you are drawing the line for the ID leader." yes, it looks like a + sign but i'm not meaning to draw a leader. "Are you sure you have clicked on a door to allow for the ID to be created?" yes, i've clicked on the door. "When the cursor turns to the plus sign, if you click on the 2d Selection Tool, does it go away?" i can't click on anything when this is going on. "You also can't quit VW while in the middle of a function." no, nothing responds while this is going on.
  23. after placing a few door ids, my cursor will kind of hang up, turn into a small "+" and then a line extends from the center of the door id to the "+" and flashes on and off. it will stay this way until i force quit the program. after opening again, it's fine until i place a few more door ids. before all of this happened, i went in to adjust the size/font of the door ids (via plug-ins). after this problem started, i replaced the new file with the original (i had saved it just in case). but the problem is still occurring. i ran disk utility already. cherie vw architect 10.1/osX.2.4
