  1. Long time 3d modeler, new to VW, working on a residential with Hardie board Board and Batten exterior walls. Is this something that would be better to model (the battens) and if so, is there a way to have a wall style with a repeating 3d element every x inches in a certain dimension? I can control the height with a component easy enough, but am not seeing a means to make something an element like a batten. I could do this with a texture and bump or displacement map, but that's not going to look great for the hero shots when it is front and center (well, left of center, but that's immaterial). Using VW Designer 2017 SP4 on macOS, if that matters.
  2. Started with Benson's suggestion - deleted those two circles (zoomed all the way in and there was nothing else there) and then zoomed to fill content on the design layer and it has the drawing. After adjusting the scale to match 1" = 120' (1:1440), the drawing has all sorts of gray circles overlapping (I change the lines from Autocad colors to grey so I could see it more easily). Alan's suggestions got it in without the gray circles and scaled correctly. Also, I converted the document to 1:1 in Autocad, deleted out the paper space, and was able to import it 1:1 into VW and it's setup correctly. Coming from AutoCAD, is there a reason to not draw in design layers at 1:1? Thank you everyone for your quick replies and help
  3. I've imported a DWG we received from our surveyor into Vectorworks (first time trying this, and I don't have other files to try and replicate) and it looks fine in the sheet layer. Click over to the design layer and the object that was drawn in AutoCAD at 1:1 shows up as a big purple circle. offset at -1600' in both the X and Y. Is this a configuration issue? I can have them export it in a different format or change things in the original file if needed, but want to make sure this isn't something I'm doing wrong on my end (and as a new VW user, I'm willing to bet that the issue lies right here between the screen and the chair )
