  1. Hi, I have a plan with dimensions on the annotation layer, and would like the dimensional values to appear in a separate table on the drawing, which list overall room sizes. For example: If the kitchen is 2600mm x 3200mm, i would like those values to be in a table on the same drawing, and if i updated the dimension, it would update the value in the table also. I'm using VW 2016 (Fundamentals), and don't have any experience with worksheets or reports. Is this possible? Thanks in advance.
  2. If i have multiple drawings open, and i try to minimise 1 of the drawings to the dock (Mac), the whole program minimises, including every drawing i have open. Is there a way to solve this so only 1 drawing minimises at a time? Thanks.
  3. Thanks. When i click the rotate plan icon, nothing happens? Theres no description of instructions on the top left of the screen. When i press down the icon, it looks as if the tool is active (the button remains pressed), but its not.. (if that makes sense). Could it be a bug?
  4. I have clicked the icon, and selected a line - then i entered a figure in the box, but nothing happened?
  5. Hi Art V. I would like to rotate the whole drawing, instead of just one object. So the rotate plan tool would help me i think. Could you send a screenshot of where it is located, i'm struggling to find it. Is it the same as rotate view tool? That doesn't seem to let me rotate the Top/Plan view.
  6. Hi Is the rotate plan tool available in VW2016 Fundamentals? If not, is there a plug-in/script available for this? I would like to rotate a design layer by 90 degrees (drawing elevations around a plan). Thanks
  7. I thought i would respond back on this, as our IT support company seemed to have resolved the issue. Our anti-virus software (ESET NOD32) was scanning our server prior to us saving files. This meant (for a reason i still don't understand), that Vectorworks 2015 files wouldn't save as it thought the drive was read only.
  8. Hi all. Is there a rotate drawing tool in VW fundamentals? Currently using version 2014. When drawing elevations in 2D, i would like to set them up around the plan, and rotate the whole drawing when working on it. There used to be a plugin for VW 12.5, but it doesn't work in 2014. Thanks Jonathan.
  9. The eye dropper tool works a treat. Thank you. It was more the colours of the classes that i wanted to copy over, rather than the visibility of classes.
  10. Hi all. I am wondering if there is a way to change the class properties of multiple viewports? My normal method is to change the class properties of 1 viewport, and then select another and import the properties from the viewport i have changed. However, i can only do this 1 viewport at a time - and on a sheet layer where i have say 10-15 separate viewports, it becomes a bit tedious! Thanks. Jonathan.
  11. If you are able to save locally, then you would still be able to use Vectorworks, you would just have to move the file to the server afterwards. However, I suspect it is a read/write permissions issues as mentioned above. If the issue were with your install of Vectorworks directly, you would not be able to save locally either. I appreciate that is a work around, however it would mean non of our information is backed up until we transfer it to the server. If we transferred it every evening, we would have to re-save it locally just to be able to work on it. It's extremely inconvinent. If it were a permissions issue with our server, surely we would be experiencing the same issue on Vectorworks 2014? Our IT support company have checked our server and all our files are read and write for every user.
  12. Having contacted Service Select to try resolve this, it is still an issue after installing SP3. This is extremely frustrating as we cannot use the latest version of VW, whilst paying for the Service Select Service.
  13. I have a topographical survey which is related to GPS, and has co-ordinates on the station points. I have set my Vectorworks Origin on one of the co-ordinates, and am wanting to plot co-ordinates of a the proposed buildings. When using the VB XY plugin, it gives me the eastings and northings in relation to my set origin, not in relation to the GPS co-ordinates. Is there a way around this, other than me writing down the XY value in the Vectorworks dialog box and creating a individual text box for each instance?
  14. Our server is a server, and we all have separate log in details etc. All our project files are located on here. Normally, we can open/save VW 14 drawings from and onto the server without an issue, its only when opening them in VW 15 that the problem occurs. There is no issue with saving to the desktop.
  15. Hi Myself and my colleagues are about to migrate over to VW 2015 from 2014, but have experienced a problem straight away. When we open a 2014 file from our file server, into 2015, and try re-save it to the server, we get this message. "The disk drive or file is marked read-only. Please unmark it and try again". I have checked the file permissions on our server, and they are all read and write for all users. Has anyone else experienced this issue and found a solution? Or should i be contacting our IT Support company who look after our servers. Thanks Jonathan
