  1. no i mean how should i have classes and layers set up to make this work? in what order should i have it
  2. I am snapping to the the Lighting position and they are set at a height of 23'. In what way do i need to have the Layers/classes set up? do i need the L/C with the lights higher up or the Lighting position
  3. Idk if this has been covered but I couldn't find it When i place a new lighting fixture on a lighting position I thought that the fixture is suppose to automatically be set to that height, so in 3D it is actually hanging on the pipe. I might be wrong and this might not happen at all but i thought i have read that it does this b/c its a pain having to go to all my lights to set them at how high the beam it says they are on is at. Any help?
  4. I do not have this parts record. Is there somewhere I can get that record to add to my symbols? bc i looked a long time last night and couldnt find anything about it or how to get it. Or how do i update my symbol library to include that? thank you for your help btw
  5. Since this was my first post I didnt know then to put my specs in my signature. I have VW 2012 (student copy if that at all matters) Is there something different in 2013? Or is there some sort of setting that i have selected that I shouldnt? Bc the pic that you showed me is exactly what i have been trying to do to no avail
  6. well i just decided to create a new focus point for every fresnel right below it so then it is aimed straight down. But i still dont know why my fixtures are not aligning with the focus points if someone can help. I attached a pic of what happens when i select a focus point. The beam light goes there but the actual fixture is unchanged. [img:center]http://techboard.vectorworks.net/ubbthreads.php?ubb=download&Number=8375&filename=Bad%20focus.png[/img]
  7. Ok I have an entire plot already hung in 2D and I am trying to do it in 3D. When I pick one of my fixtures and tell it to focus on one of my focus spots the light beam does get focused there but the symbol doesnt move at all. Not in 2D or 3D. Why doesnt the symbol center on the center of the light beam? Another focus problem i have is on my Fresnels i have hung i have some that are just pointed straight down. but the light goes to some random focus point not just straight down. why does the light do this i want these to just be straight down. Right now i am haveing the hardest time getting any of my fixtures to hang and focus. Can someone help me before i go insane!!
  8. When I shutter a light it works like how a normal light would with the bottom shutter affecting the top of the beam. Which is fine but when i turn the Draw Beam option, the wire beam it shows me is of the shutters not the light. So it is the reverse. Is there a way to get the beam that is drawn to show the actual light beam and not the shutter beam. The pic I included is the problem i have u can see the bean is just the reverse of the actual light.
