  1. When drawing a rectangle using the rectangle tool, a thick black line surrounds the object until I'm finished selecting the start and end points. It happens only when using the rectangle tool and only in certain files. Did I miss something with the release of 9.5.1? Is this a toggle or a bug?
  2. P4 1.4gHz512mb RAMWinXP ProVWA 9.5.1HP Design Jet 600 HP provides numerous drivers for the HP DJ 600. Can anyone reccommend the preferred driver for my particular setup?

    Batch Export

When you say batch DXF export, I hope you mean to include batch DWG export as well.
  4. A command similar to "Print Sheets" but for the purposes of batch exporting sheets to DXF or DWG. This would save mucho time-o.
  5. Is it possible to batch export VW files as you would use the 'Print Sheets' command?
  6. Once you've linked data from your drawing to a database within a worksheet, is it possible to sort that data alphabetically? In my case, the sort buttons are viewable, but don't respond when clicked and the data column highlighted.
  7. Using Adobe Acrobat 5.0, I would take 2 minutes prep a Vectorworks drawing for CMYK printing by doing the following: - File > Print Setup- Set "Acrobat Distiller" as the printer- Select "Properties"- Select "Adobe PDF Settings"- Select "Print" from the "Conversion Settings" pull-down menu- Select "Edit Conversion Settings"- Select "Colour" tab- "Settings File" > None- "Colour Management Policies" > Tag Everything for Colour Management- "Intent" > Default- "Gray" > None- "RGB" > None- "CMYK" > Select your prefered CMYK setting. I use Photoshop 5 Default Setting.- Select "OK" Presto! CMYK PDF output. Enjoy Mikemnelson@infotectus.net
  8. Change the reference on "Layer-1" to update the reference "manually by command". I've found that the auto-update can cause some errors and as soon as you switch to manual, it works. I've also discovered that if a cheap no-name CD-R is used to copy a file, when you open it on another computer the file is sometimes corrupted.
  9. I've run into a similar problem and there are a few ways "troubleshoot" this scenario. But first: What OS?What version of VW?What's your hardware setup? What media is the file on? (cd, zip etc.)If it's on a CD, who's the manufacturer? I'm based in Vancouver, If you're in the area and you still need help, feel free contact me at mnelson@infotectus.net Mike
  10. This problem still exists. Has there been any further inquiry into this on the Nemetschek front?
  11. I've tried booting in Safe Mode twice and using VW for 10 minutes at a time and am unable to recreate the problem. This could be due to the fact that this problem is random and I haven't worked in Safe Mode long enough for the problem to pop up. Nor do I plan to work in Safe Mode much longer due to its restrictions. I have scoured my hardware settings and have not seen any conflicts. What's next?
  12. As I said earlier, I'm using the following setup: I'm using:VWA 9.5Win XP ProP4 1.4ghz256mb RAMNVidia G Force 2 MX 4x AGP Video Card I have my screen set up at 1152x864. I haven't had time to tinker in safe mode.
  13. Downloaded, installed and rebooted with the latest NVidia Detonator driver and the problem has not been solved. Upon further review, the problem occurs only when changing colours. This includes fill, pattern and pen.
  14. I've brought this up before.. When changing the attributes (fill, line wieght, pen colour)of objects via the Attributes palette, I frequently get this message: Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime LibraryProgram:..program files/Vectorworks Architect 9.5.0/Vectorworks.exe This occurs at random time intervals in multiple files while changing the attributes of polygons and/or walls. This is becoming increasingly frustrating!!! I'm using:VWA 9.5Win XP ProP4 1.4ghz256mb RAMNVidia G Force 2 MX 4x AGP Video Card

    Thumbnails

Does anyone know if there's a way to view and select sheets within a file by thumbnail pictures?
  16. Does anyone know if there's a way to view and select sheets within a file by thumbnail pictures?
  17. I've drawn dozens of details that I print individually on 8.5x11 sheets. Using Vectorworks Sheets is a great way of organizing the file. However, it would be even more efficient if a Thumbnail Viewer tool was created. Ultimately this would allow one to view the sheets within a file not only by sheet name, but by a small view of what is drawn in each sheet. When you've got a few detail files with 20+ sheets within each file, one tends to loose track of which sheet is which and this Thumbnail Viewer would be very helpful.

    Object Fill

Does anyone know whether its possible to use text as a fill within a wall or polygon?
  19. JNR, don't bail on VW just because of hatching. The hatch program in VW is one of the best for more complicated issues but ridiculously stupid for simple aspects. One example: Developing a hatch for your brick dimensions with an exact mortar size lets you see what an elevation would look like with the "finished product" as well as more accuratly estimate brick quantity.
  20. Greg. Thank you! Aggregate is what I should have asked for in the first place to avoid frustration and confusion. I'm interested in knowing why the aggreagate is used in Tiles rather than a Hatch. Seems like for every one good thing Vectorworks develops, they make some questionable moves. It makes me wonder if they have an Architect or even a draftsman on the Nemetchek staff to consult.
  21. brilliant! i could also mask-off the area on my monitor, use a can of spray-glue and throw dirt on it. that would work too!
  22. Let me get this straight...you suggest I use a concrete fill for my gravel/backfill dilema. Then what do you suggest I use for my concrete hatch?
  23. A custom window symbol.
  24. I created a custom 2D symbol from scratch. It's composed of a rectangle and a few walls.
