I seem to remember that you could create a Focus Symbol, for example take a symbol of a piano and make the entire symbol a focus point. Is this possible to do without creating a focus point or am I thinking of a different software.

Greetings
Does anyone know the best settings for the Nvidia Quadro K5000 to work with Vectorwork 2013. I just installed it and Vectorworks seems to run slower than the Nvidia GTX 580 I had in the machine before.
I'm starting to wonder if the $2 I spent on the graphics card was worth it.

Greetings,
I'm using Design 2013 with Jan 18 SP update
I have created truss and converted it to a lighting position.
I keep truss and lights on separate layers for plotting purposes.
When I try to insert a lighting fixture on the same class as the truss it works fine. If I change class to other than the truss class and insert the fixture it will snap to the object but when I place it is appears below 0' and does not hang on the truss. The only way that will work inserting a fixture on a truss on a different class if I have the "Show/Snap/Modify other" turn on in the classes options . Why cant I do the same thing with the "Show/Snap" option

Greetings All,
Is there, or has anybody created a macro to repeat the last command, similar to AutoCadd's right click option. I'm finding it tedious to continue running though menu's
Thanks

THANK YOU! That is exactly what I was looking for.

Hi Shelley,
I would agree with your thinking, My hopes is that someone might be able to write an add on that would take a coordinate from the hanging position and each lighting fixture and do the math to give a distance from a set point, either the start or center of the hanging positions.

Has anyone had any luck on exporting the position of a lighting fixture relative to the start of a lighting position and not the origin. I.E.
The start of a 10'lighting position starts at (10',15') with 5 fixtures evenly spaced with the first fixture 5" from the start of the lighting position. instead of the first fixture being at (10'5",15') I would just like to have the measurement of (0'5"). Of course I would want this to happen in any axis of the x and y planes.
I know this involves some complex math, and I would even be willing to purchase a plug-in if someone was able to create this option
Thanks

Thank you for the help, but I don't understand why this is so difficult. On complex raked lighting positions, this will be a BigPITA!!. On the other 3 software programs I use for designs, I don't have any problems with 3d not to mention doing the same effect with half the steps.
Is this a concern to Nemetsheck or just another inconvenience I have to deal with?

OK, Ive been fighting with this for over an hour.
Ive tried to rotate a lighting position for a vertical torm position. Spotlight will only allow me to draw/Rotate/Convert lighting positions in the Plan view.
I have been searching the help PDF but haven't fount anything to assist in doing this
Any Help would be greatly appreciated
Thanks

Autoplot VW Truss tape plugin request

What is the possibility of the Truss Tape Plugins being implemented to 2017 from Autoplot VW?
It is a VERY valuable tool, The new Dimension Tape plugin is useless since you can not export the information via the User Fields, keeping me from making labels for truss tapes.
