just installed 2014 SP3 spotlight/fundamentals on a new windows 7 office machine. every time i try to change the color or edit a symbol it crashes. any info on this bug?

i've had it happen on the beginning and the end of both stright segments and multi segments. it's stock spotlight in VW 2014. i've also seen it in 2013.

whenever i go back and try to edit pipe and base lengths with the reshape tool it always twists the base plate of the end i've moved. is this normal? i've included before/after shots.

hello, is there a good way to make custom, curved stair railing? when i try to extrude along path it twists the profile. it seems like something that should be common. thanks

it usually happens when i have a lot of truss and chairs. i've gotten the setting where they're acceptable and it's working now. tech support was pretty good. i was surprised. thanks for the offer, though.

yes, i called tech support. we're working on it. it may be that my 2D and 3D conversion rates were too high. i still don't understand why a windows machine will do it, but a mac can't. why even offer options that a machine can't do? i would understand if i were running a very weak machine.

it either just doesn't do it or it gives me an out of memory error. most of the time it just doesn't do it. it will spend some time trying to do it and then stop and act like i never tried to do it.

can anyone tell me why i can't render hidden line on my mac but can render on an older pc? it seems i have enough memory and processing power. yes, i'm the creator. i own vectorworks 12 at work and vectorworks 11 at home. i found where i exported the v. 11 file on my dropbox before i left work today. i just didn't pay attention to where i saved it.

i can load an .ies file into lightwave and it will give me the actual light. it's the same as adding a symbol in vectorworks. the main purpose is to set the proper lights in the proper position with the proper properties. it looks like i'll just have to do it manually.

i need to export out the photometric information of a lighting design to another piece of software in order to do a photorealistic rendering. i'd also like to be able to export the locus information.

is it possible to export a lighting plot with photometric information?

hello, i'm having issues rendering in hidden line. it's not an overly complex model and it works fine on my imac, but i can't seem to get it to render on my mac pro. it just "builds and render" over and over. mac pro: 10.6.8 2 x 2.66 6-core intel xeon 16 GB ram imac: 3.2 intel core i3 4 GB ram both are running vectorwork 2012 thanks

hello, is there a way in the event planner to assign a unique number to each table in a space? i know i can type the number on each table but it becomes tedious with 250-300 tables. thanks

doesn't a symbol require RAM each time it's placed and increase render times accordingly?
