  1. Hello all, I am wanting to draw a circle that is tangent between three arcs. I know I can do this if the circle is tangent between three straight lines, but I can not seem to do this between three arcs. I know this is possible in AutoCAD. Is it possible in Vectorworks? If not, can someone mention to the higher ups to make this possible. Thanks
  2. Benson, thanks much for the idea of using the Loft command. I spent all day on this yesterday (hopefully the boss isn't too upset). I ended up doing something very similar to what you suggested in your last post. I am new to 3D in Vectorworks, so I am having to learn as I go. Thanks to all for the suggestions. I am glad this Vectorworks Community Board is in existence. A
  3. Attached drawing describing what I am trying to do.
  4. I would like to extrude a profile along a path and also rotate that profile about a rail as it extrudes. The path is a 3D curve. The profile begins perpendicular to the path at one end and stays perpendicular to the path, but yet revolves around an axis at the same time. Kind of like mixing the commands Extrude Along a Path and Revolve with Rail. Is this possible???
  5. In the Viewport Annotation, the 'Angular Dimension from Two Reference Lines Mode' does not snap to an object, endpoint, etc. at all. The snapping mode engages on the screen just before I click. But when I click, the program puts the line not on the snap to location, but on the actual clicked location. Basically, the tool will not snap to an object at all even though it says that it is snapping to an object. Is anyone able to help with this.
  6. With all of the clicks I am doing in a drawing, I need something faster. I want to be able to click on an object and see all the information associated to that object without having to make unnecessary clicks that waste time (I do not want to have to click on the data tab every time I want to see specific information, which would be much of the time). It would be nice to have an editable notes field in on the shape tab of the OIP. This notes field would be there for any object, whether it be an individual object, group, symbol, etc. Setting up a record format for each object, yes, is possible, but takes time. Too much time. If the notes area were on the shape tab of the OIP, I would simply be able to click on an object and see the the notes I've put in along with all the other information of that object like class, layer, size of object, and positioning of the object.
  7. It would be nice to have a notes area in the object info area. For any given object you could write a note on that object. It could be what the object is made out of, color of the object, how the object relates to other objects around it or to the whole drawing.
