  1. Thanks very much Jim. - Brian
  2. Okay, I just viewed and it was great, I will work on that information. Now, do you have any other information - video about the other types of layers? Thanks, Brian
  3. Sorry Jim for not getting back with you quickly, but I was called out of town for a few days. Actually, I am just training on the product and picked up an older tutorial which caused me to expect to see that menu in the lower left hand corner of the screen, when in my version 2011 it is visible elsewhere. Thanks Anyway for your kind response. Could you help me on another issue. I am having a very difficult time understanding the layers hierarchy. I need theory and understanding concerning the whole class, active layer, design layer, sheet layer, other layers concepts. Could you point me to a document or video that discusses the hierarchy of each of these and how they relate to each other and how I should work with each. When do I need to change the active layer, design layer, etc.. Thanks, Brian Noyce.
  4. I just tried to click on the views menu icon and it is not displaying - what could cause this? Thank, Brian
  5. Thanks Ray and Danielj1 for your help. When I first wrote - I was trying to install the 2010 trial on my laptop, but since then I have recieved my purchased installation disks and now I am encountering a new problem. The autorun file will not open and run. I have tried just clicking on the install.exe file also and I cannot get the installation to start up on either my desktop or my laptop? I just found on the internet a 'MS Autorun Fix It' utility that I intend to download and try, but I also just thought I should try another software installation disk just to see if it is VW install disks alone - causing the problem/.
  6. Thanks for the cryptic answer Ray. As my name indicates I am a newbie and have just purchased 2010 with Renderworks, so that is the version I am attempting to install. Is it permissble to have two installations (one desktop and one laptop) with one license?
  7. I am having problems installing on my laptop. It is allowed to have a second install on a laptop right?
