When in Edit Group on a Roof Object, snapping doesn't work on any greyed, visible objects only on objects in the Group that represent Roof Object Cutouts, this is very cumbersome and counter productive, when one needs to change and adjust the cutouts all we can do is delete them and start anew or guess......please introduce this functionality!
-
I believe this is a bug or at the very least an omission.
When using the Reshape Tool in Move Edges Parallell Mode on a Roof Object there are no Handles visible. (Took me a while to figure this out, at first I thought this mode didn't function on Roof Objects, turns out it does!)
-
Agreed, I was into something similar a while back too:

Try select all, you should get a bounding box to show you where it is, or you could use the custom selection tool to select all doors, that too should highlight the opening and show you where it is.
-
When it comes to using VPs where break lines are necessary one would expect the Detail VPs to handle this type of functionality?!
-
Well, in these parts a double break line is custom in the situation above so perhaps an option for this can be added too.
(the break line works as it is now but normally we only use a straight dash dotted line for breaks so while you're at it perhaps some options for customizing the actual line?!)
-
While we're/you're at it, how about introducing some Split Tool functionality into the Break Line Tool this would save the most time.......something like this:
-
Obviously allowing the Connect/Combine Tool to function on it would be desirable too.
-
It is currently not possible to trim objects using the Break Line (created with the Break Line Tool) I would like to see this introduced, please.
-
Please add an option for replacing symbols with other symbols when they are deleted from the RB.
-
If the auto hybrid doesn't work on groups/pios/symbols then it's useless.
Though I agree, the question is what happens for example when you make a door into an auto hybrid what representation is it supposed to choose for the Top/Plan representation? I mean PIOs are already a sort of auto hybrid...?! The same applies for a stair, perhaps even more so because the stair has a Top/Plan representation for the actual floor plus one floor up....?!
-
Would be nice if we could save them in the resource browser somehow too?!
How about an Auto Hybrid Symbol?
-
I don't know if this is a common type window in other parts but definitely not here so it would be nice if there was an option to make sure the 'segment' part of the window top doesn't protrude outside the side frame vertical, please!?
-
OK, so what happened here? Why aren't these options available in doors? Disappointing!
(Why aren't these 2 dialogs identical?)
These types of deviations really need to be addressed throughout the program......
-
In the attached image all the white grooves in the facade are done using this Symbol Hole Component method in the outer wall component, they are in effect recesses done by a symbol.......as you can see the windows and ddors cut right through them.
-
Check it out but basically you are using the symbol hole 'feature' to create a recess so any windows, door etc will work as normal, it does however mean you'll need to create an extra component in your wall so that once the symbol is place it removes the rest of the component to leave the protrusions.......
-
Mark, I suggest you dump Wall Recesses/Projections all together and use symbols in a technique explained in this thread:
https://techboard.vectorworks.net/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Main=39920&Number=198112#Post198112
In my experience Wall Recesses/Projections are very prone to buggy and irregular behaviour as well as being quite limited in its functionality. It is a feature that definitely needs a lot of attention before being usable to any reasonable degree.

It would be nice if we could enter a specific value in the Modify>Align command dialog to distribute objects with a certain distance/offset.
Ie If we have a certain selection of objects and we want to distribute them with a certain specific spacing value. eg. distribute all objects with the left one as a reference with a spacing between them of say 1000mm.
in other words give the Align/Distribute command some of the functions that can be found in Array commands......
Also nice would be if we can use the mouse to define this values manually.

Maybe this.....?
"I do wonder whether there are any architects on staff at VW and whether they have they ever worked on projects bigger than a single family house…."
Well, it wouldn't be the first time that this critique has popped up, albeit in a more diplomatic way (though at the spur of the moment my reaction has been the same when confronted with similar 'in your face' omissions......)
-
I would like to see the introduction of a Select Similar mode option for selecting certain wall types as encompassing walls.
Very often I want the slab to be encompassed by only exterior walls and to avoid having to click on each one or hide all other walls it would be easier/faster just to be able to select all exterior walls in one go.......

OK thanks for the feed back Bob, then it is my installation of VWs. (Good thing I'm about to buy a brand new iMac 27" ))
