Thanks, i did use the purge command, but only after already deleting all classes and layers i wasn't using. so it made no difference. It just seems strange that a drawing with a lot of layers and information is 30Mb and reduced down to 7 layers and 3 classes with a small area of the drawing is still 9 Mb. I just get a feeling that i am missing something.

I am trying to reduce the size of a VectorWorks file. I copied a larger drawing but only need some of the information. I have removed all the information that I don't need, removed all layers and classes that I don't need and all the hatches information. It seems the file is not shrinking in proportion to what I am removing. Does anyone know where information may be hiding that takes up a lot of memory ? Cheers!!!
