I'd like to add to this discussion that I have the same issues and have been so frustrated that the renderings I used to be able to produce in VW2010 were totally great and now in 2017 barely passable. 

 

I would like to add that it would be amazing if this could get fixed.  Also, it would be nice if it were possible to point a light at the camera and not turn my render time up 1000%.

Here are a couple screen shots to show what Scott is talking about. He created these a while back to show me the issue. We both do a significant amount of realistic lighting in Vectorworks. This issue has caused us to have to look at other options. Since we have been using light objects for so long it has become a huge part of our work flow.

Also, we are using a symbol library that dates back to VW 9. We have updated those files using batch convert over the years.

Please tell me that 2010 can handle all this.

Yes they were... Will that cause an issue?

I am working with a lighting plot that goes through yearly revisions. It was completely redrawn using VW2008 and then brought into VWX 2010 when we upgraded.

We have a couple companies that we work with that use 2008, so we must be able to export to them.

Also, we have a PC in our office that is still using VW2008 with ESP vision, that we would like to use also.

Should I reinstall? I am not sure what could be causing this. I just upgraded from 2008 last week, so who knows.

Has anyone been having issues exporting from VW 2010 to VW 2008.

I have tried on two different machines now, same issue, spinning color wheel, and the progress bar just stalls.
